Loving Care ALF, Inc. in Tampa, FL
4.5

We really liked how hands on the staff was and how patient they were with the patients. While our loved one was there they really did love her and did a great job caring for her. They helped her take her medicine and eat her meals. Her room was very clean and well organized and at one point she had a private room. The only complaint we had is one time the communication was lacking, but it was fixed and overall its a great community.

Loving Care ALF 1, Inc in Tampa, FL

Although there are many reasons to be concerned once your parent or close relative is admitted to an ALF you always hope that your loved ones are well taken care of. My mom entered the ALF in [date removed] with Alzheimer's Disease stage 4. It was very tough taking care of her at home so I took a leap of faith and chose Loving Care ALF to take care of my mom. From day one, the staff was warm, kind and very understanding of the family dynamic and assured me that I made the right decision. I stayed away for a couple of weeks to allow for my mom to adjust to her new environment. The staff maintained contact with me throughout with regular status reports. Once I started visiting my mom, I found the facility to be extremely clean and the staff was wonderful. What really resonated for me was how "at home" the facility felt and how peaceful it was. As my mom began to decline, I noticed a genuine concern for my moms well being and a greater focus on her care. I visited the facility during the various shifts and spoke to everyone involved. Their dedication and attention to detail was consistent throughout. I was at peace knowing that my mom was in very good hands and it helped me also attend to my normal family life. During my moms final days, the emotion, stress and confusion was high but the staff at Loving Care ALF maintained their professionalism and attention to detail. During the process, my appreciation for Loving grew each day and I can say with confidence that we certainly made the right choice. If you want what's best for your loved ones at such a difficult time. Loving Care ALF should certainly be on a short list of facilities that know how to get it right. Much love and appreciation to the staff at Loving Care ALF.

Care Homes in Clearwater, FL

Residential care homes — sometimes called care homes, board and care homes, group homes, or personal care homes — are often houses in residential neighborhoods that are adapted, equipped, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually 10 or less. Similar to assisted living but in a smaller, more residential setting, these homes provide supervision, organized events, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). This means care homes can help with everyday routines but typically do not provide 24-hour skilled nursing assistance.

Cost of Personal Care Homes in Clearwater, FL

In the state of Florida, the median monthly cost for a room in a care home is around $2,800. However, the cost of living in a care home depends largely on location. Since the homes are private residences, costs are tied to real estate values and therefore may vary greatly.

Much of Clearwater’s activity centers around the beach and the outdoors, and with a great climate and some of the most striking views on Florida’s Gulf Coast, it’s no wonder. Clearwater’s namesake beach is often rated among the best, and frequently number one, in all of the U.S. by various sources. The pristine white sand beach is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, whether you’d rather swim in the crystal-clear water or simply relax in the sun. Clearwater Beach is large enough to have areas that are both secluded or bustling, depending on the setting you’re after. The beach’s Pier 60, consisting of a park, souvenir stands, and snack vendors, is also a great location for fishing, during both daytime and nighttime hours.

If you’d like a break from the beach, Clearwater has plenty of other options to offer. Every year the city hosts the Sea Blues festiva two-day outdoor festival spotlighting live blues music and all types of seafood – in downtown Clearwater. The festival is held in February and admission is free to the public. Clearwater is also home to Moccasin Lake Park – a 51-acre nature preserve with winding trails throughout the trees, where one can view a wide variety of plants and wildlife. The park also offers classes, programs, and scheduled events.

Remember that if your tastes and interests are more metropolitan, Tampa and St. Petersburg are only a short distance away.

Transportation

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) operates the public bus system in Clearwater, as well as a trolley system which connects downtown Clearwater to St. Petersburg. Most of the buses run 7 days a week, cover much of the area, and operate from early morning to nighttime hours. For disabled individuals and those 65 years of age or older, fares are offered at discounted prices of about 50% off with proper ID.
