These provisions include Residents may self-administer medications if they are capable, If the medication administration is supervised by a licensed healthcare professionall, the community must ensure that these individuals coordinate the medication administration process and system, and when medication administration is not supervised by an RN, practitioner, or pharmacist, the CBRF must arrange for a pharmacist to package and label a resident’s prescription medications in unit dose. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include therapeutic diets must be provided if ordered by a physician, communities must provide at least three nutritious meals a day and a nutritious snack, these meals must meet the recommended dietary allowances based on current dietary guidelines for Americans, and these meals must meet residents special dietary needs. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. Public assistance is available through The Elderly and Physically Disabled 1915(c) Waiver program, the Community Options 1915(c) Waiver program, and the Medicaid managed care 1915(b)(c) Family Care Waiver program for the aged and physically disabled. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include behavior management, supervision, resident-specific services, and including personal care. Staff members obtain training in a number of fields. These include: needs assessment of prospective residents, challenging behaviors, community policies and procedures, and job responsibilities. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to ensure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as community must develop a temporary service plan to meet immediate needs, reassessments must be conducted at least annually, and when residents have a change in needs, abilities, or condition, initial comprehensive mental and physical assessment, and the plan must specify which program services will be provided to meet the resident’s needs as identified by the assessment and the frequency with which each service will be provided.
