These provisions include Residents may self-administer medications if they are capable, when medication administration is not supervised by an RN, practitioner, or pharmacist, the CBRF must arrange for a pharmacist to package and label a resident’s prescription medications in unit dose, and If the medication administration is supervised by a licensed healthcare professionall, the community must ensure that these individuals coordinate the medication administration process and system. Staff members obtain education in a variety of areas. These include: standard precautions, development of service plans, resident rights, and community policies and procedures. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include leisure time activities, information and referral, activity programming for persons with dementia, and health monitoring. Public assistance is available through The Elderly and Physically Disabled 1915(c) Waiver program, the Community Options 1915(c) Waiver program, and the Medicaid managed care 1915(b)(c) Family Care Waiver program for the aged and physically disabled. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include these meals must meet residents special dietary needs, communities must provide at least three nutritious meals a day and a nutritious snack, these meals must meet the recommended dietary allowances based on current dietary guidelines for Americans, and therapeutic diets must be provided if ordered by a physician. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to make sure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as community must develop a temporary service plan to meet immediate needs, the plan must specify which program services will be provided to meet the resident’s needs as identified by the assessment and the frequency with which each service will be provided, reassessments must be conducted at least annually, and when residents have a change in needs, abilities, or condition, and initial comprehensive mental and physical assessment. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents.
