This community is nice and clean and the grounds are well maintained. The staff is responsive to dad's needs and are friendly. The place seems well managed. He loves the food here he said they feed him well. He's been out for an activity to go get ice cream and enjoyed that. I would highly recommend this community to friends and family.

I'm just going to make it easy and give them a 5 for all of the above. Carrington Place at Wytheville community was great, I never had any issues. Most of all, my mother was happy while she was there. That's all I could ask for.

This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include Periodic oversight of special diets by a dietitian or nutritionist, bedtime and between meal snacks must be available, and three nutritious meals must be provided each day. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents. The maximum occupancy is 2 residents per room. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include The community must have a medication management plan that is reviewed and approved by the Department., a licensed health care professionall must annually review all residents medications, and Residents may self-administer medications if they are capable. Public assistance is available through Medicaid 1915(c) waiver program–Virginia Alzheimer s Assisted Living. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to guarantee their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as Initial comprehensive assessment and develop a care plan with the input of the resident, family, direct care staff, case manager, and health care providers, as relevant. Staff are required to receive training in a number of areas. These include: Residents rights and responsibilities, Specific duties and requirements of their positions, hand-washing techniques, standard precautions, and infection risk reduction behavior, and procedures for detecting suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
