This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include Therapeutic diets as ordered by the resident’s physician must be provided according to the service plan, communities must provide at least three balanced and nutritious meals or the equivalent per day, exceptions must be specifically approved by the Department, and The meals must be served daily, at regular times, with no more than a 16-hour span between a substantial evening meal and breakfast the following morning. There must be one bath or shower for every 10 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. In total, there can be no more than 4 residents to a room. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include supervision of a resident’s medication regimen, returning medications to the proper locked areas, and assisting residents with taking medications. Staff must obtain education in a variety of subjects. These include: basic emergency first-aid, financial management, skills for working with residents, and community resources.
