During our loved ones stay of [dates removed] we were very happy with our experience. The owner [name removed] was very thorough and detailed with things they do and how things are ran. During the covid spikes and lockdowns he was very honest and straight forward with the families. This especially helped make our transition much easier especially from coming out of state. If we had to do it all over again we would pick Cutler Bay. It is very affordable - not the lowest but not the highest. The staff are great.
When I was in need of a short stay for my spouse, we used Heart-to- Heart. From the initial point of contact to visiting the home, I knew this was the right place. The staff are professional, friendly and caring. As well as providing a home friendly, clean environment, with home cooked meals. Thank you Heart-to-Heart for being there for us at a time when we needed assistance the most.
We chose this facility because i felt it was a homey place, it did not feel cold and institutionalized. My favorite part about this facility is the people there. The workers are very outgoing and will help in anyway they can. My mom has no complaints about the food, I have never eaten there before, but the coffee is very good. The first room my mom was in was small but nice, now the room she is in is much bigger and brighter. I would definitely recommend this facility.

The term ‘‚¬Assisted Living was initially found in the 1980s to describe a innovative kind of residential living for old adults that was significantly different from more traditional nursing home designs. Assisted living is created for individuals who want some support with day to day activities but who still would like level of autonomy and who wish to reside in an apartment-like environment like a studio or a one-bedroom apartment. Many assisted living communities provide a complete schedule of activities and events and provide multiple meal choices to cater to varied tastes and preferences, including special eating plans and restaurant-style options. Small pets are often allowed.
In contrast, the sign of nursing homes is that they provide skilled nursing care. They are designed to meet the needs of seniors and others who have medical conditions that need to have 24×7 medical assistance. Meals are usually served in a central dining hall and residents reside in private or shared bedrooms. Some nursing homes also include short-term rehabilitative care. Nursing homes today are also called convalescent care centers, nursing centers, skilled nursing communities and long-term care communities. Because they provide more help and support, nursing homes are more expensive than assisted living communities.
Both skilled nursing and assisted living communities may offer memory care, which is specialized support for people coping with cognitive impairment. In fact, 40% of the people who reside in the state of FL are living with some type of dementia, according to the National Center for Assisted Living. In general, people living with the initial stages of Alzheimer s or dementia are greatest supported by assisted living communities while people living with later levels of Alzheimer’s require the medical care of a nursing home.
