Sweet Home Senior Living 2 in Van Nuys, CA

My Mom spent the last year of her life at Sweet Home. I am so thankful that this was her final home. They knew how to care for at every stage. It’s hard to lose a parent. Sweet Home took care of us. The food is home cooked to the preference of each person. There are group holiday meals. Every week musicians come and play music for the residents.

Sweet Home Senior Living 1 in Van Nuys, CA

The amount of attention, love and care that my 87 year old Aunt [name removed] is receiving at Sweet Home is amazing. By the grace of God we found this beautiful, caring, family friendly environment. Even during quarantine they have kept contact with families, organized resident holidays, birthdays and BBQs at their outdoor kitchen. There are four 6 resident capacity homes next door to each other which is like a small village. The homes are new and absolutely beautiful, the owners, who are sensitive caregivers are so professional. All of the confusing details of moving her in, dealing with medicine, doctors and insurance has been handled by these amazing women. Our Aunt [name removed]is so attached and grateful to them, a sign of what an incredible job they are doing. Our only regret is that during this time we expected to spend wonderful afternoons with her and her housemates at the outdoor kitchen but we have all been quarantined. Looking forward to the day of reconciliation but thank God for the beautiful home we found for her. Anyone interested feel free to call me personally. [name removed] [removed]

The Cottages of Lake Balboa 1 in Los Angeles, CA

My 89 year old mother had a fall in March of 2020, at the same time COVID was rising. She went from being hospitalized, to weeks in skilled nursing, and then we needed to find a Board and Care home for her to live in. Imagine having to manage your elderly parent's care from afar because not only do you not live in the area, but due to COVID you haven't been able to visit in person since she entered skilled nursing--and now have to find a place for her to live without being able to be there. It was an incredibly difficult, painful situation. We were incredibly lucky to be led to the the compassionate, kind, skilled team at Claredon Senior Living. Without ever meeting in person, we were able to work with them to find a place for our mother at the Cottages at Lake Balboa. [names removed] were responsive, a pleasure to work with, and truly committed and passionate about working with elders. The level of care she received was simply top of the line. Though she had dementia, she was able to share that she felt safe, cared for, and that the staff were just wonderful. The executive team met with relatives of patients on a Zoom call, and unsolicited, the other relatives welcomed us to the Lake Balboa family, shared that they felt 100% confident with the care their loved ones were receiving, and how grateful they were they were there. Any family would be lucky to have their loved one in their care.
