It is a really nice place, but it is incredibly expensive, but that's probably in general to most nursing facilities for mom's level of care. She could only afford 2 1/2 months before her finances were gone and we had to sign up for Medicaid. People did genuinely look out for her. It was a very good experience. It is a fantastic location! I appreciate the security, can't enter the building unless someone lets you in - I think this is best. My mom expected skilled nursing type engagement, however she was there as assisted living at highest level.
My mom loved living at Danbury! The staff was wonderful! At the end of her life we couldn't ask for any better treatment for her or her family.
The friendliness of the staff at Brookdale Mount Vernon is amazing. I was never greeted like that at dad's previous facility. He is cared for very well. The residences are very clean. Visitors reporting back to me have said that they are amazed at how much he has improved in his current residence. One cannot ask for a better recommendation than that.
