Memory Care
The first impression was excellent. Everyone smiled and was very pleasant. We were given the tour and loved the place which made us bring my mom up to see it. She fell in love with the place and the room in which she was going to stay in. She has been there since December. We have discovered that the communication between the staff and administration was not good. We also discovered that the food was not good and limited choices regarding menu. It is clean and doesn’t smelled. Lots of light and had a few very nice sitting areas. The activity manager is fantastic. Has a lot of activities for the residence who want to participate. I did visited a couple of other facilities and did some comparisons. It was the best facility for my mom who has dementia. It does have a memory care attached which will be available when the need comes.
As the family member of the patient attacked, referencing the December 2016 review after an assault. ... My father was knocked out, sent via ambulance to the ER. He was hit so hard you could seen the imprint of his glasses on his face for weeks, along with the knot on his forehead...then she took his glasses. I think Rose Glen Manor did the correct thing, as my father, i.e. no patient could be kept safe with such an unprovoked attack.
My loved one is currently a resident at TerraBella Shelby and overall I would say that things are good. The move in process was pretty smooth. The staff are super nice and welcoming. Communication with the family could be better, but it is okay. The value for cost is not so great as families are responsible for supplying their loved one's supplies separately. Overall though, TerraBella Shelby is a nice facility.
