They really cared for Mom , they handled minor issues like a scratch or first aid without sending her to the emergency room. Her first facility was constantly sending her for minor injuries. The director loved Mom & did all she could to get mom to eat and drink especially before she died. [date removed] mom got up, asked to eat and drink & go outside. Her last time was that day. The director sent me a picture of Mom & thought mom might be getting better. That night & next she became unresponsive even as my daughter & me visited her. Later that evening she had a gastric bleed & aspirated. Hospice took forever to get there. They called for an ambulance. Hospice came as she was leaving the facility & thought mom should not go. The med tech overruled her & sent mom on. She notified me & my sister that they were taking her to the hospital. She went to a hospice facility in kings mountain & died on [date removed]. Hospice facility was wonderful throughout the night.... Read more

I absolutely loved Summit Place of King's Mountain. [name removed] their onboarding/sales gal is just awesome. The facility itself is clean, bright, and very active. I like that it is smaller that way they are able to give more individualized attention - their memory care only had 16-20 residents. The only issue for us was the location, it is a 45 minute drive from my house and I wanted to be able to visit more often. That being said, we were still very on the fence and almost chose Summit Place.

March 9, 2023Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!
Summit Place of King's Mountain is a great place, especially compared to another place we experienced first. I wish I had moved my mom to Summit Place sooner. It's a very Christian, caring place. They're very transparent and don't try to hide anything from you. They allow you tremendous availability to come and see your family member. Everybody there takes an interest in your family member. It's a nice place - very clean, and there are no unpleasant smells. We had no incidents with the care, and they coordinated well with hospice. They would get so excited when she had a good day, and would make sure to take her outside and take pictures to share with me. I really appreciated their genuine concern for her wellbeing.

The community is extremely clean and the staff members here are very friendly. This is a good community for assisted living and memory care we would highly recommend for that level of care - but this is not a skilled nursing facility they do not have it here.

We have been very pleased with Summit Place. It is very convenient and they have taken very special care of our aunt. Administrative staff answered all of our questions and took care of all of our needs in the beginning. She loves the food they serve here, they are chef prepared meals. We get an activities sheet every month in the mail so they have a lot to offer for the residents. All of the staff members here are very responsible to the residents, they always come first and I was pleased with the help, when we needed something they were always right there and great with communication. I would recommend to others looking. It is a small residential area, it is not too big so everyone is considered a valuable person in the community.

Response from Summit Place of King's Mountain
June 1, 2021Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. We were thrilled to read that the team helped make the process go so smoothly at the beginning of your journey, and continues to exceed your expectations as time goes on. We're glad to see you've found the communication from the team helpful, the programming extensive, and Chef Franklin will be tickled knowing your aunt loves the food. We're honored that she calls Summit Place her home and honored by your enthusiastic recommendation.
Summit Place Kings Mountain is the most welcoming place to be. You really feel like family there. Its truly the place where everybody knows your name. They go above and beyond when it comes to quality of care. The Food Is great with a 100.0 Sanitation Rating. Overall this place is wonderful and I could not be happier with the quality of this facility.

This is a pretty nice community, and my tour of it went well. The community was nice, and clean from what I was shown. The staff I met was kind, and helpful. Everything went well overall, but this was not the community for my father, and his needs.

Our experience with Summit Place has been a good one overall. It is a clean, nice looking facility, and the staff have all been very friendly for the most part. The food really wowed us at first, but unfortunately that level of quality didn't last. The food is good, but I do think it could be improved.

I think they are very nice. Its very clean. I haven't met the doctor. I left messages but they never called me back. Everything is a little chaotic this month. The communication is my only issue. They should have a shift report. I've had this issue at another place. Overall, I think it will be a nice place and everything will work out. The friendliness and caring is there but I think they just have a lack communication.

We are very happy with them. The staff is friendly, and they keep it very clean. They have plenty of activities going on, and as of now the food is fine. They are really good about being responsive and attentive, to both the resident and the loved one. I knew they had a good reputation, and they were in a good location for us.

They do a pretty good job overall. There have been a few incidents that have caused me concerns. I am fairly pleased with Summit place. When we moved in I thought it was the perfect place, now I think it's a very, very good place. I am a little disappointed in the activities, but I think it's because of the residents limitations, and what they can participate in. I think they're above average compared to others around.

This facility is NOT a "5 star" facility! For starters the management here is very flawed. The woman running this place is very unprofessional and really has no clue what she is doing. The workers here are rude, lazy, and not mindful of humans! They do not care about your privacy! Plus, they are very unsanitary! During an emergency it took 22 minutes to get help! It's a pretty piece of property, but don't get stuck inside this place, it is a hell hole. I have even seen cockroaches!! The food is terrible, the toilet paper is so thin you have to use 50 squares just to wipe, the cost is outrageous for what you get. It is not worth it, do not place your loved ones here if you really love them!
