The people here are really friendly, and the place is very pretty. They have a lovely garden outside. We came and had a little tour, spoke to the people, and they were very helpful and informative. My dad is a hospice patient and they do an excellent job with him and made the transition a very smooth one.

I first visited this facility shortly before it opened over 10 years ago. Revisiting it for a family member, I found it to be a very pleasant & safe environment, & very convenient to many outings. The staff is well trained and very caring & know all of the residents by name. The ocean/sailing theme on the walls is quite appropriate for the area and very refreshing. The facility smells clean and not medicinal like a lot of care facilities. The food is fresh & tasty & plentiful. I have been very comfortable with my family member living there.

Most residents suffer from dementia, so efforts to socialize--and the staff tries very hard--have limited success. Grand old house is built on several levels, so ramps and elevators are needed for walkers and wheelchairs. Heidi, the chef is wonderful--both in the quality of her cooking and in her uplifting attitude. Jim, the owner, is always cheerful and interested, and keeps the condition of this older mansion in good order. Grounds are berautifully landscaped, though under the adjacent airport jet landing path. Overall, a good value with a central San Diego location. Mother spent her last years here.
