Still Adjusting, But Overall A Nice Community

My mother is still taking some time to adjust with her move to this community. However I do feel comfortable with her move to this community. She is safe, and in good hands. The staff is good, and they are taking good care of her. It is a well-kept community, they do a good job with the cleanliness. This is a good community for my mother, and her needs, and I would recommend it.

Safe and Secure

We have only been there for about a month now, but the setting and location of the My Doctor's Inn facility has allowed my loved one to feel safe and secure while she is staying there. It is a good feeling.

Reminds me of a hotel

This community reminds me of a hotel, with it's 3 different level, stairs and elevators, it was bright and open and the staff did a great job with our tour, they took their time showing us around and answering all our questions. I did not think that my aunt would be a good fit in such a large community but I would recommend that you schedule a tour with this community.

Tour of My Doctor's Inn

We took a tour of My Doctor's Inn during our search for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. This facility was okay, though I didn't care for it much. This facility would not have been a good fit for our loved one. We decided to keep searching.

Our tour experience

We toured My Doctor's Inn during our search for Assisted Living. It's a beautiful facility, but priced out of our price range. Our tour also felt very rushed and we felt like we were bothering our tour guide to do the tour.

I toured this facility and it was pretty nice, but the rooms were small. It didn't feel as homey. The appearance at the entryway level is very nicely done. The atmosphere felt more like a memory care facility. Cleanliness and friendliness were good.

I toured this community. It was very new and very clean. They have a huge entryway and it's almost like a ballroom. Overall, though, I didn't get that warm feeling there. It felt a little cold. Not what we were looking for.

Clean facility, friendly staff. The assisted care side was warm and welcoming, however, the memory care unit was a little depressing. When we toured the memory care unit, there were no staff to be found. The head of maintenance gave us the tour and was able to answer most of our questions. No RN's on staff. Limited LPN coverage with non licensed med passers. The activity schedule was good and the menu had a good variety.

Experience at My Doctor's Inn

My loved one was previously a resident at My Doctor's Inn. The aides were great. However, the facilities were dirty, rooms were hardly cleaned, the food was awful, the management was so-so and the activities were non existent.

Do not recommend this facility for memory care

My experience here for my Mother was a nightmare. The following day that she was admitted, I was looking to get her out of there ASAP. Broken mattress which she needed for bedsores, no call button, was told to use the bathroom call light, wandering patients coming into her room. Leg injury the very next morning that she was ther. They told me she tried to get out of bed. I was told she choked on spagetti so she need a thicker smoother diet, they brought her a coney dog with onions and a side of broccoli, next day, noodles with something over them with a side of broccoli. They do not check every two hours and if they check at 2:00 and patient needs a diaper change, they come back in two hours, too bad for patient. Was told I couldn’t spend the night which I knew I would do after the first night experience and was told I had to leave. Told them I was staying and they could call the police on me. Get the picture? My Mom died peacefully at my daughters home.

Look Elsewhere

Please look elsewhere. Your loved one deserves it. The girls told me they have no training in memory care. Your loved one can lose up to 20 pounds in a month then they finally call the visiting Doctor in. He even comes in with a more qualified nurse not one of the facilities nurses. They just care more about money than your loved one. Make your family member priority one.

Great caregivers, but if looking to put your loved one in a good memory care facility, PLEASE LOOK FURTHER. Employees made to work double shifts, if relief workers do not show up. How do you think someone working 2 shifts, back to back, are functioning at full ability, with your loved one? Nursing staff? Now really? What are their qualifications and experience in this area? Please spend a little extra money and look for a more qualified facility.

Please find another facility.

If looking for a good memory care facility, please pass this one up. While visiting a family friend, help was needed, only person found was a lady in a blue scrub top with an attitude. Nursing staff are LPN's not knowledgeable in dementia / alheizemiers. I understand the caregivers are wonderful, which is important, but not enough to have your loved one at this facility.

Don't

The care friends were great but I was told they have no training with Dementia residents. The only thing management was worried about was making money. Not extra safety for the residents. The nurses there did a good job ordering prescriptions but when the doctor would visit he would have a nurse from a homecare firm come in for a follow up not the nurses on staff. Think twice about putting your loved one here in the memory care side.

Poor quality assist living facility

My mother spent nine months at My Doctors Inn. It was decided some time after placing her there that it was necessary to remove her from the facility to keep her from further declining. To begin with, the day before she was due to move in, we visited the room to make sure that all was in place and found it to be filthy with a great many heavy, dark stains on the carpet, marks on the walls, dirty light fixtures. The facility refused to install new carpet and at that point we would not have moved her in had not the lease already been signed. My mother has dementia, mobility problems and is very incontinent. We asked them to make sure that she remained hydrated and to just check periodically to make certain that she was wearing an incontinence pad. Each time I visited I found glasses of untouched water everywhere about the room since although water was brought to her room, the aide just set it down and left. Also, every time I visited not only was she not wearing a pad, she was neither wearing any underpants. My mother constantly complained to me that she hardly ever saw any of the staff and if she was feeling unwell or dizzy that she was unable to find anyone to assist her. The meals served were of poor quality and much too high in carbohydrates and low in nutrients for the population living there. I repeatedly requested that she not be given any desserts and my pleas were ignored. At entrance she had moderate cognitive impairment which was unnoticeable to the casual observer and at nine months she could barely remember anything. This is a consequence of poor nutrition. Another issue was that minor objects began disappearing from her room so it was clear that a thief/thieves were among the staff. Clothing was taken to be washed and never returned, however, other persons clothes were found in her closet. The room was poorly cleaned. I continuously found fecal matter on the toilet seat. I many times observed the staff outside yelling and smoking. The outside break area behind the building where residents may want to go for walks was covered with cigarette butts. The staff seemed to tend to do a lot of partying in their station room. My mother was always complaining of yelling outside of her door. In conclusion, while the interior of the building itself is certainly pleasant and appealing, the care leaves much to be desired and if you are considering moving your loved one here, please reconsider this decision and look elsewhere.
