Types of care available in Dryfork, WV
The major factors were the size of the community. It is small enough to not be intimidating. The other huge factor for my brother is that it actually has a decent size group of older guys who eat together, watch sports events together and keep each other company.
My uncle is doing really good here. We like that he is active and enjoys the activities. The menu is appealing. The staff are attentive and do the best that they can and we like that he is getting the attention and care that he is needed. We have recommended friends to come to this community for the value and care that is offered here.
On a scale of 1-5, I'd give them a 10 on everything!!! I would definitely recommend them. I would like to be placed there (when necessary), if it wasn't so far from me. In March of last year, we were about to place Mom in another facility. A niece stopped us and we are so glad she did. We already had Mom's stuff at the facility. Canceled her room there, called Timberview that morning at 8 am and visited at 10 a.m. Asked if we should bring Mom and they said "Of course, this is going to be her home, she needs to be comfortable with it. Visited the facility, saw her room, asked if we could get a door stop for her door - we had one before we left. Also, my Mother's best friend of 50 years was at Timberview (TVC) and they requested to be roommates. It was also approved before we left on the initial visit. TVC was very accommodating on any request we had during and after our Mother's stay. They contacted us if they didn't feel something was right with Mom. They had many activities that Mom participated in. Our Mother blossomed during her time there, (date removed to date removed, day of her passing). During the last couple days of her life, TVC had kept us posted on her status and advised us when the time was near. My three sisters and I went there, took shifts staying with her. In the early morning, the head of the kitchen area made sure we were fed during our time there (no additional charge to us). TVC worked very close with us and they are private pay, but very reasonable in their rates. TVC was always spotless and never had that 'urine/bleach smell. All of the staff were so friendly. A year later and we are still in touch with some of the staff. Overall, they were FANTASTIC!
