We felt instantly at home when we first toured Legacy. The weight of the decision can't be understated! We really value dads home: and all the care that goes into making it a good living experience.

Legacy House Assisted Living of Spanish Fork

When I walk into Legacy House of Spanish Fork the feeling of comfort is immediate. The staff treat me like family and everyone is so friendly. The residents are happy and eager to share their home with visitors. The feeling is different at Legacy House of Spanish Fork, it's welcoming and there is always a smiling face as soon as I walk in.

Summerfield Retirement Living in Orem, UT
4.5

They keep everything very clean, and the staff is very friendly. I think they are in line on a cost basis with the industry. I found less expensive places but they were smaller. There were places that were more expensive and less expensive, but this was sort of the better of the mid-range places. I know they are very busy, but they may not always understand the urgency of a health issue, if it's the first complaint. It would be nice if they didn't wait so long to get in touch with the on call nurse or doctor if a resident has a complaint, even if it seems minor. They have plenty of entertainment and activities. The food is nothing to write home about, she hasn't complained. They do the laundry and it's fine, they do an okay job, but when they bring it back, it's stuffed back into the same container and when she pulls the clothes out, they are wrinkled, It would be nice if they could bring the clothes back on hangers.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a building that houses two or more seniors who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. This type of complex offers its inhabitants 24-hour care administered by on-site nurses. These nurses provide healthcare services for people who cannot care for themselves because of their aging.

This type of facility is a convenient and comfy care choice for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will take in individuals 55 and greater (a rarity in the realm of senior care). As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from abuse and neglect, have your representative notified about your care, get proper medical care, and be treated with respect. Many occupants of nursing homes are persons with behavioral difficulties. These can consist of verbal outbursts, resisting assistance, or a tendency to wander. A large number of nursing home residents are individuals who have a physical or mental disability, require assistance with daily tasks such as walking, experience difficulty with vision and hearing, or have incontinence issues. Nursing homes are required to provide specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), nursing and related services, dietary services, and a professionallly directed program of activities to residents. The most common mental issue effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their memory recall, decision making capacities, and and their sense of familiarity.
