I can only praise these people. Every employee there goes out if their way to help my mom in every way possible. Each employee hugs me when I walk into the facility. It is like we are all family. They go out of their way to make sure my mom's room is clean, like come in there several times a day to tidy up, They change her bed very often because of her incontinence problems, they keep her clean and wash all of her clothes, they are constantly coming to her room to encourage her to do the activities. The maintenance man is more than that. He will bend over backwards to help in anyway possible, the director is absolutely wonderful and runs the place as smooth as a bell. The food is wonderful (home cooked). I can't say enough positive about everyone. They have a nurse there everyday. They have all become our family. There are only around 35 residents, so that is nice because you know they have enough employees to take care of everyone. I would recommend this place 100%.

Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care in Texarkana, TX

Everything has been great. The only problem that has been is the residents in memory are further along in their condition than my loved one. This makes it difficult for my loved one to communicate with the residents to get to know them. The food is alright for my loved one. They have assisted living and this is where the food is cooked. Once it is finished cooking they deliver it to the memory care unit. The residents have two choices of options for each meal. The upside of the community it is a smaller unit for more care from the staff.

My mother-in-law was here several year ago, and just moved my dad here this month. Alot of the same people there which says alot. Everyone has been great. My dad can't stop bragging about the food and the people. It's small so everyone pretty much knows everyone and my father has been treated like family since day once.

A significant amount of residents are single women who have smaller social support groups, and almost half of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old.
