My dad is doing great, it was a little adjustment at first but going good now. We love the facility. It is bright and airy and there is more for them to do. They were my favorite when touring. I like that they can go outside and walk in the garden when he wants. They also have a mini golf course and he loves golf. The staff answer any calls and texts. He is starting to get involved with the activities and they sent us some picture of him being involved. He is eating all of the meals and it looks good and pretty healthy.
Lower ratings only due to "no place is perfect" and sometimes when you make a request it may take an extra minute for stuff to be taken care of. Not sure of reason, When you "renew" your living quarter contract they forget that "the extra" $ increase is sometimes a huge demand on the tenant and family on a social security budget.
Even though our loved one has only been there for a short while, the staff have really gotten to know her. Every time our family comes to visit they know us by name, they recognize our face and always greet us with a smile. The staff have no problem keeping us up to date with anything regarding our loved one. We did have a medical concern about a month in and the staff were very quick to notify us and help us with the situation The showed they have swift and quick response time and it says to us they were always paying attention to our loved one even during the night shifts

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home facility provides residence to at least two seniors who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home facility offers its residents around-the-clock care administered by registered nurses. These caregivers provide health related services for people who cannot take care of themselves because of their aging.
Nursing homes can be a helpful and easy living choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will admit persons 55 and above (a rarity in the realm of senior care). Some services come at an extra cost which can include personal clothing, cosmetic and grooming items, and specially prepared food. Nursing homes are required to provide routine personal hygiene items, nursing and related services, room and bed maintenance services, and pharmaceutical services to residents. A large portion of nursing home occupants are persons who have incontinence issues, experience difficulty with hearing and sight, require assistance with daily tasks such as walking, or have mental or physical disabilities. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from discrimination, be free from restraints, spend time with visitors, and be treated with respect. The most common mental condition effecting residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their decision making capabilities, and their sense of familiarity, and memory recall.
