The staff are so nice and friendly! Very caring and take great care of my uncle! They are always smiling and take such good care of my auntie [name removed]! She enjoys BINGO and their BBQ days! She likes her room just wants a better view! I would recommend this building to anyone in the Mt Pleasant area!

Green Acres of Lowell
5.0

We visited this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. This seemed like a very nice place, overall! The staff were friendly and caring, the facility was clean, and the food looked very good! Unfortunately it was also fairly expensive, and not in the price range we were looking for.

Brookdale Midland
5.0

We chose Brookdale Midland because the staff that worked there all had nursing experience. They are all very knowledgeable and know things about my dad and what his likes and dislikes are.

Remus, Michigan

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a building that houses two or more individuals who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. This type of complex provides its inhabitants with 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These nurses offer healthcare services for people who cannot properly take care of their own needs.

This type of community is a familiar and comfy living choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will allow persons 55 and greater (a rarity in theworldof senior care). The most frequent mental disease experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their memory recall, decision making capacities, and and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings. Some services come at an extra cost which can include a private room, unless medically needed, special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment, and flowers and plants. A large number of occupants are single women with circles of support, and almost 50% of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. Often times seniors might prefer to live in a nursing home due to a mental or physical disability that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their lifestyle goals. Examples of amenities and servicesoffered at nursing homes might include monitoring serious illness and unstable health status, rehabilitation needed due to injury, disability, or illness, intravenous or nutrition therapy, and friendly visitor programs.
