Staff is really nice. They look out for my mother. Like if she misses a meal, they check in on her. Oh the appt transportation is a pain. It's only available 2 days a week half day. Have to get approval ahead of time. And the they drive you but do not assist into building. When it's a large medical bldg this is difficult for someone in a wheelchair.

Our experience with this community was good, overall it is kept pretty clean. The care services are pretty reliable, the activities were however a little bit weaker. The food at this community was very good, and we really liked the responsiveness of the staff and the availability the memory care unit had

As I expected; pleasant. Food needs to improve; there are more people with memory problems than I expected. We picked this community because of the location, ambiance, and the fact that rooms are live in place.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that provides housing to at least two individuals who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its occupants 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide care for seniors who are unable to properly take care of themselves because of their aging.

This type of community is a familiar and easy care choice for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely allow access to individuals 55 and older which is unusual for other senior care types. Many residents of nursing homes are persons with behavioral troubles, which can consist of resisting care, verbal outbursts, or a tendency to wander. Nursing homes are required to provide a professionallly directed program of activities, dietary services, routine personal hygiene items, and specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability) to residents. Often times individuals may prefer life in a nursing home due to a physical or mental condition that prevents them from easily accomplishing their lifestyle goals. A large number of inhabitants tend to be single women who have smaller social support groups, and about fifty percent of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. The most frequent mental disease experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their memory function, decision making capacities, and and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings.
