Dogwood Bend in Clarksville, TN
5.0

Upon visiting Dogwood Bend on multiple occasions I observed that the atmosphere of this community is pleasant and clean. There has always been someone to greet me at the door each time. Everyone at Dogwood Bend keeps a smile on their face and was very approachable which also allows the morale of this community to be high. The staff is always prepared to help a resident and/or visitor when there is a question or concern. Overall, Dogwood Bend is a home away from home and I would recommend anyone looking for an assisted living facility here.

Brookdale Clarksville
5.0

All of the services are exceptional. The staff is very communicative and attentive. I would say that I am very pleased. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I am satisfied with the care my folks are getting. The staff members have been with Brookdale a long time. I think it is probably a Pretty good place to work.

Arcadia Senior Living Clarksville
4.9

I love Arcadia. It's a relief to know that my loved one is cared for and safe 24/7. I wish I had done this sooner because I feel like they are better off there than being home my themselves. I see a marked improvement in them, and I see some of my loved one returned to me.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home offers lodging to at least two persons who have no family ties to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its occupants around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide maintenance, personal care and other health related services for those who cannot take care of themselves because of their aging.

This type of community is a helpful and comfortable care alternative for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely take in individuals 55 and greater which is for other senior care types. Some services come at an extra cost which can include a private room, unless medically needed, personal comfort items, and specially prepared food. Many occupants of nursing homes are individuals with behavioral problems, which can encompass verbal fits, resisting support, or an urge to wander. Nursing homes are required to provide a professionallly directed program of activities, pharmaceutical services, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), and routine personal hygiene items to residents. Examples of amenities and services offered at nursing homes might include meal programs, help with shopping and transportation, skilled nursing or medical care, and patient and caregiver education. Many inhabitants are bachelors or widows with smaller social support groups, and about 50% of nursing home residents are older than the age of 85.
