Dove Estates Senior Living in Goddard, KS
4.7

We chose Dove Estates because we liked the overall atmosphere pf the facility and after walking around during the tour, the residents were all out and about and would come up and say hi to us. Everyone was just very friendly. The apartments themselves are also very nice. The staff were always super helpful and friendly. I would recommend them to others looking.

This was a positive experience for my loved one. It was a friendly place. The food was good and catered well to individual requests. Housekeeping was good. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

Ascension Living Via Christi Village - Broadmoor in Wichita, KS
5.0

They are amazing, we searched high and low for a good facility for 2 years. I popped in at 8 o'clock last night and they were doing a puzzle with him. The nurse is super accommodating and she even brings him meals from home when he does not like the food being served. The staff are always kind and excited to see us when we got to visit, they never have any issue with us coming to visit daily. They truly care about the residents and it really shows. I recommend Ascension Living to everybody who needs this type of care.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home provides residence to two or more individuals who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its inhabitants around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide health related services for those who cannot properly care for themselves.

Nursing homes are a convenient and comfy living alternative for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will commonly accept individuals 55 and greater which is for other senior care types. The most common mental issue effecting residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can hinder their memory function, decision making abilities, and and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings. Types of amenities and services provided at nursing homes can include adult day services , monitoring serious illness and unstable health status, adult day health care (which offers nursing and therapy) , and skilled nursing or medical care. Often times seniors might decide to live in a nursing home due to a mental or physical impairment that prevents them from easily accomplishing the activities of daily living. Some services come at an extra cost which can include flowers and plants, cosmetic and grooming items, and special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment. Nursing homes are required to provide nursing and related services, a professionallly directed program of activities, routine personal hygiene items, and emergency dental services to residents.
