It was beautiful, really nice! It was a little more expensive. The food was a three and a half or a four, it left a little to be desired. The people were friendly and it was clean and just beautiful!

For the most part everyone is nice some of the other residents can be quite rude and act like they own the place. I have made a couple of friends that i spend time with. The activities are a lot of fun to join in all the ladies in activities really make the activities fun. I also find the library quite enjoyable. It is quiet and well stocked with books and DVDs as audio books The food doesn’t excite me but if im hungry the nurse can always offer cereal or something from the snack basket ( fruit, granola bar, pop tarts, chips, cookies you can also bring in your own snacks. ) The main problem I encounter is having to wait for help to the bathroom since im paralyzed and require help This facility could benefit from some teamwork activities

I like this community for the good care for my dad. The staff is always keeping me updated on his progress. He is active but both of my parents are here and like that they are offered activities. We would recommend this community to other families for good care and the good value.

Brookdale was great to work with. Stable staff that was great with the residents. It is definitely assisted living and can meet some nursing needs. I would probably not look at it as a nursing facility.

Clay Center, Kansas

Nursing Homes

A nursing home offers residence to two or more persons who have no familial relation to the administrator. This type of complex provides its residents with 24-hour care by registered nurses. These caregivers provide care for people who cannot care for their needs due to their aging.

Nursing homes can be a helpful and comfy living option for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will commonly admit individuals 55 and greater seldom heard of in senior care regarding care types. Nursing homes are required to provide specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), a professionallly directed program of activities, pharmaceutical services, and routine personal hygiene items to residents. A large number of inhabitants tend to be bachelors or widows with less social support, and almost half of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include flowers and plants, cosmetic and grooming items, and a private room, unless medically needed. Many occupants of nursing homes are elders with interpersonal social issues, which can include verbal lash-outs, resisting aid, or a tendency to wander.
