Both my Mother and now my Mother in law have been residents of Otsego Place. It has given my husband and I a great feeling of comfort knowing these two ladies had the best of care. The staff are like family, the food is excellent, and there are lots of activies for them to participate in. This is an independent living facility so they can come and go as they please. There are different levels of care so that if Mom has some issues you can taylor the care to her needs. Yes it costs more for each level of care, but good care is not cheap and we want the best for our parents.
A very loving and caring staff. The food was very tasty and well prepared. My wife was only a resident for eleven days but she was treated very well. I would highly recommend this facility.
We needed a place for my dad on short notice and Floyd Place was helpful in expediting that process. Although COVID-19 is an issue for everyone at this point, the staff are all taking proper precautions with all residents and finding ways, within the CDC rulings, to have the family visit. The staff at Floyd Place are extremely friendly and supportive of both the residents and their families. We, the family, are informed about events, new CDC protocols, and so forth. My dad calls me every night to report how his day went and he starts by reporting the pleasant manner of the staff, especially [names removed] and the quality nursing staff. He then describes his interactions with his cohorts at the Floyd Place, which is highly beneficial to have people you can relate to that are close to your own age. He is a military veteran and there are others with this same experience so they can share stories. He then proceeds to tell me what he had for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and what he chose on the menu for the next day. He loves having these food choices and tells me the chef cooks delicious meals! Thank you to the staff at Floyd Place for offering a special place for my dad.

A nursing home is a community that houses two or more persons who have no personal ties to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its occupants 24-hour care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide specialized care for people who cannot care for themselves.
This type of community is a helpful and easy living alternative for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely take in individuals 55 and older which is unusual for other senior care types. Many inhabitants are bachelors or widows with smaller social support groups, and almost half of nursing home residents are older than the age of 85. Examples of amenities and services offered at nursing homes might include wound care for pressure sores or a surgical wound, adult day services , care coordination and case management, and friendly visitor programs. Nursing homes are required to provide dietary services, medically-related social services, routine personal hygiene items, and pharmaceutical services to residents. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to form or participate in resident groups, be free from discrimination, get information on services and fees, and to manage your money.
