The staff is very dedicated to the needs of their clients, very dutiful. They take great care in communicating with the client, they're patient. I have noticed when I'm visiting the staff always communicate with my mom, as opposed to communicating with my mom through me, very client-centered. They do a good job of keeping the apartment clean and attending to doing her laundry in a timely manner. They're very meticulous with her meds and make sure she understands what she's taking; they do well with administering her eye drops. Overall, the staff is curteous and dedicated to their work.... The staff is friendly and helpful. When my mom was there the food wasn't very good. Not very much meat. A variety of other choices and healthier choices would be nice.

It was an absolutely awful experience. They forced my mom on hospice to stay because they did not want to do the work to give her care which she paid dearly for then they kicked her out. She's no longer even on hospice. They were just plain lazy uncaring and not empathetic their care was so awful they didn't wheel her to the dining room half the time either

November 4, 2024Hello, thank you for bringing this to our attention. I apologize for the misunderstanding; I wish we could have known sooner. We cannot order Hospice care for any of our Residents, that order has to be done through the Resident and/or Resident's family and a Doctor. I hope your Mom continues to do well. Warm regards, Jeana
The light and brightness of the place appealed to me. The people milling about seemed it would be a friendly community. Also, it seemed a beautiful, safe neighborhood for my young grandkids to come for care after school and to visit me. They are welcomed, and so is my little dog. The staff treat them just like family, which I love. The activities are repetitive and leave a bit to be desired. They do NOT get us put in the community enough, but rather have fund raisers for Alzheimer's every couple of weeks instead. The food is great at times and at other times, not so good and is repetitive, too. It is food on a large scale, though, and there are about 4 choices per meal, so all in all there is nothing to complain about! They fix your meals and are very kind in serving us! I love that they clean and do laundry, bedding changes included! If you want to be social you can, if you want privacy, you may have it! The staff are the BEST and TRULY care!

June 10, 2024Hello, Thank you for your review of us. We greatly appreciate it! Jeana
Heritage works with you on all levels of care. We have had my Mother and Father-in-law,, my Mother and my sister-in-law at Northern Hills and received all levels of care. They’re are good about keeping residence here for good instead of sending them off to a nursing home. At times, they seem shorthanded as all places have been but work quickly to remedy that as well as any issues that we have had. The food I would say is second to none. I am surprised by their food choices and quality. Activities are exceptional as well. I give them a 4.5 out of 5 and I am tough on my grading.

January 24, 2024Thank you for the feedback, we truly appreciate the communication. I hope you will continue to enjoy living here.
It's wonderful to go into the buildings and see the same staff with very little turn over. This makes it great for the residents and their needs. Staff are wonderful, caring, respectful and put the needs of the residents first.

January 24, 2024Thank you for the review. I agree, we have wonderful staff. We really appreciate the feedback.
There is NO communication. The move in process was easy and they were very welcoming to our mom. The meals are very good. It's like a restaurant with 2 choices each meal. The housekeeping is very good. My recommendation is communication. Any communication. There is none. Or have a face to face sit down meeting, at the minimum, after the first 30 days.

January 24, 2024Thank you for your review Jenny. We appreciate the feedback and will work hard to get you the communication that you need. Please feel free to reach out to us or stop by the office at anytime. Your Mom seems to be enjoying the community and she is a sweet lady.
The staff was very gracious in providing temporary furniture for my mother and getting everything set up in a comfortable fashion and then removing the items on the day her furniture arrived. All the residents seemed active and friendly. They allow pets.

September 10, 2024Thank you for sharing your experience so others can find our community.
It's easy to tell they're conserving on meat in the meals. They sometimes run out of food. Most of the people who eat there complain about the food to one another, but don't say anything to those in charge. The facility is kept very clean. It always looks nice. The décor and holiday decorating are very pleasant. Many of the residents are very friendly. It feels like a secure, safe place to live. The apartments are cozy.

I would highly recommend Heritage. The staff are always on task and supportive. They're good about efficiently providing Mom her meds and responding in a timely manner to her requests. Housekeeping of her apartment is excellent. She really enjoyed the trunk or treat they had recently. Sometimes she is not too keen on the meals. Overall, mom having a good experience. Staff is very caring and attentive to client needs.

Mom was sick one day and no one checked on her. It is a good location and a good place to live. It can be understaffed sometimes. It's a good place to go with good activities. It's a nice environment for mom.

They are very friendly and supporting when setting up the tour at The Heritage. They understood this is a difficult process in placing a loved one. They are able to provide several services, such as meals, laundry, and housekeeping. I wish it was a little more affordable, but feel we are getting what we pay for. The staff can be hard to get ahold of, because they are busy. They do have a cell phone to text but they are quick to respond in this way. My loved one seems to enjoy the food offered.

First, Mom enjoyed independent living at Northern Hills. When she needed more care, she moved to assisted living. The staff is very competent, caring, and friendly. We also enjoy walking in the beautiful courtyard whenever the weather permits. Mom has been in other facilities and we have found Northern Hills to be the best. Her room is bright and cheery, and she is staying mobile.
