My father-in-law was a resident of Sunnybrook in Ft. Madison for almost 3 years. Prior to moving to Sunnybrook, his health was poor and he was hospitized monthly. He enjoyed the social aspect of visiting and playing cards with his friends at Sunnybrook. His mental and physical health also improved while at Sunnybrook. We credit Sunnybrook with giving us a couple more years with him.
We really like it so far and have been very pleased, our loved one has not been there long she is currently in a rehab facility. The community itself is very clean, cute with a homey atmosphere. The staff members we have met and dealt with have been very wonderful, we love them and have no complaints as of yet.
My parents moved to The Lamoine in March of 2023. It is top notch, a beautiful and welcoming facility. The director and staff made the moving experience very easy and smooth. The individual residents floors are kept very clean and do not have the "nursing home" smell. The staff sanitizes often. The receptionists are very friendly and kind and ready to help take care of your questions and needs. The "fix it" man is awesome! The food is great! While still in their home, my parents weren't eating properly and had lost weight. During this last year my Mom has gained 10+ pounds. The Director always makes herself available if we have problems or questions. She keeps resident's families in the know by email and is always available to talk. The CNAs are all great! They give wonderful care to all the residents, very loving! My Dad passed away May 15 and the staff did not miss a beat...they took care of Mom AND our family. We know Mom is in a good place, loved and well taken care of. Our family is so happy we chose The Lamoine!
