mom is happy at Pacifica which is very important. The staff is wonderful, caring and pleasant. I admire all of the care takers and appreciate all they do. Nazareth Classic Care of Napa

My loved one thinks highly of the food. I have talked to the caregivers that assist my loved one. These caregivers call me and inform of anything going on with my loved. I believe the staff is very friendly. The community is taking care of my loved one. I am able to drop in and see my loved one through a window. My loved one always seems to be clean when I visit her at the window.

I think they do a fantastic job at Carlton Senior Living! I helped find this place for a friend, and our experience has been a very good one. It's a beautiful facility, and the staff are all very kind, caring, and professional. They've got all sorts of activities, good food, and a great social atmosphere. The other residents all seem very active and friendly! I'd highly recommend it, if you're looking for senior care in the area!

Staff is friendly and caring. Like the smaller cottages. More of a home feel than a facility. The activities are ok but not as advertised. The food is not very good at all. My mom complains about it daily.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a building that houses at least two individuals who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its inhabitants around-the-clock care by registered nurses. These nurses offer specialized care for seniors who cannot properly take care of their needs due to mental or physical conditions, including age.

Nursing homes can be a convenient and comfortable care option for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will allow individuals 55 and older which is uncommon for other senior care types. Often times persons might decide to live in a nursing home over another type of community due to a physical or mental impairment that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their lifestyle goals. Examples of care services and amenities offered at nursing homes can include skilled nursing or medical care, friendly visitor programs, rehabilitation needed due to injury, disability, or illness, and meal programs. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include flowers and plants, personal reading materials, and specially prepared food. The most common mental condition experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their and familiarity, memory recall, and decision making capacities. A large number of occupants are single women with circles of support, and about half of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old.
