It's been ok, I have been disappointed with the staff and med techs. They are not very responsive, the meds techs are inconsistent with the time of day when they give meds. If change wasn't so hard on mom I would move her. The management doesn't hold the staff accountable. A lot on cell phones out instead of paying attention. Have complained, but never much change. The place could be ran so much better. Never see the director out on the floor. Always hiding in her office. And not available to talk to.

The people working there were nice. The medical people I dealt with were good. The food was okay. They ran out of things a lot. I would recommend it to others.

Response from Magnolia Court
May 8, 2024Thank you for taking the time to write this positive review. We appreciate your feedback and do apologize for running low on our specials of the day. We are working hard to improve the quality and quantity of our entree specials. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to call the community or stop by and speak to our Executive Director. Thank you again for this 4-star review.
Magnolia Court has an exceptional team working there. The director [name removed] is awesome and her care team genuinely shows love & attentive care to our loved one. The director and care team are extremely kind, friendly and exhibit exemplary care for residents.

When she first moved there she was uneasy about the change. The staff were great about helping her integrate into the community. They introduced her to the other residents and encouraged her to join in the activities. She was reluctant at first because she doesn't like change, but is now thriving. She has a group of friends and is busy all day. I think she only goes to her room to sleep now!

I am very pleased in making the decision to choose Magnolia Court for our Mother. I visit often and feel that the care staff takes very good care of Mom. The Mothers Day Bruch was absolutely beautiful, "5 Star Food" that our entire family could be apart of. Great, clean environment and excellent food according to her dietary needs. We couldn't have been blessed with any better. Thank You Magnolia Court and Staff

I would recommend magnolia court. The staff really care about the residents. The nurses get to know each resident and check in with each one every day. The food is good but the service is slow. The owner, is approachable when you have an issue and tries to make changes but since he isn't on site he doesn't see what is happening first hand. They advertise many activities like exercise classes and worship service but those are just videos the residents can watch in the tv room and are not led by anyone. They try to do fun activities but most of the residents just want to eat and nap and gossip so it is hard to get them motivated to do other things and not the fault of the management

We have had a great experience with assisted living at Magnolia Court. The staff are wonderful and caring. It's a great place to have your loved one. My only concern is that the cost is going up way too much.

Response from Magnolia Court
June 16, 2023Dear James, Thank you for sharing your positive experience! We love what we do and I am glad it shows.
Our experience with Magnolia Court has been nothing but excellent from the time we came to check the place out, to moving my father in. My Dad has been living there for about 3 months now so I felt this was a good time to share our feedback. Finding the right community for a loved one is very hard when you have so many options in the area. Without getting into too much detail, we reached out to a local agency in town that referred us to a place that offered 100% memory care. Please do your research guys, this facility (not magnolia) had so many citations on the government website, we didn't even know it existed. Magnolia Court has been a breath of fresh air. The Director is an actual Nurse, and they know exactly what they are doing. My Dad is so happy now, he is thriving and his dementia seems to be at a standstill versus progressing. We are very happy that we found this community, and highly recommend this place to anyone. Plus, it is absolutely beautiful and the food is fantastic!

Response from Magnolia Court
June 16, 2023Dear Jan, Thank you for sharing your experience with an online review. We pride ourselves on a warm and friendly atmosphere, great food, and professional caring staff. It comes easily because our team truly loves what they do.
They need more activities in memory care, more structure of the day besides just having them wander around or sit them in front of a TV all day. The food served to residents is not the best. They do not have a direct line to memory care, so it is hard to get a hold of people. Assisted care was good, but I would not recommend Magnolia Court for memory care. They have traveling staff and they are there one week gone the next! If your looking for memory care this is not the place for your loved one!

Response from Magnolia Court
June 13, 2023Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are committed to providing enriching activities for all of our residents. We have experienced and caring staff in Alderbrook (Memory Care) who have been with the company for many years. I will be bringing your review to the team to discuss. Please call me at anytime with any additional feedback you have for our team. Sincerely, Yolanda Harrell Executive Director 707-447-7100.
Be aware and ask for the staff turn over rate - especially how many Executive Directors have changed in a three year period. We are moving our mother out ASAP. Not providing basic care services being paid for. No help at bathing / showering, dressing, lacking basic check and balance. Current Executive Director is putting the blame back to the client that they are responsible to take care of - no communication back to the family that there is any issues. Ethics are lacking and also core values. Facilities do not fix items that are broke or unserviceable.

You have to look past the amenities and experience the level of care. My first observation was that they didn’t provide the level of care that you are paying for. The medical staff is disorganized and poorly trained. You must follow up on every directive or change in medical orders to insure they are being following. Their record keeping is also incomplete. The newly hired executive director provides nothing but ingenious lip service and complaints memorialized in writing are unanswered
Our family had an in person tour and it was a very good experience, the staff were very professional but the community to use felt more like a cruise ship on land, a little to excessive for our loved one personally.
In the beginning I would give them 5 stars, but they have just changed executive directors and there are a lot of changes going on within the facility and staff. The assisted living residents get more attention than memory care which I feel is a bit backwards. I have been disappointed in the activities. They say they have activities provided, but I have not witnessed it. They have a lot going on in assisted living and they bring entertainment in, but I would really like to see more going in in the memory care unit. The director has only been here for a few weeks and I have not even met her yet, but we are hoping to see some improvements soon.

October 31, 2022Thank you for taking the time to share your review. It is our expectation to provide enriching activities to all of our residents. I am happy to discuss this with you in further detail. Please feel free to contact me at 707-447-7100. Sincerely, Yolanda Harrell, Executive Director
Magnolia Court is is a big transitional period where they have a lot of brand new staff. The administrator is also brand new. The owner and nurses come from other states that travel to the community and they aren't always there. It would be nice to have more consistent staff at the community including the higher level management. The communication can be difficult, as the memory care unit doesn't have their own phone. In order to speak to a staff member in memory care you have to contact the main line and then they have to try and transfer you back to the memory care unit staff, and they sometimes won't pick up. The care for the residents is good. Medication management, hygiene care, dressing and bathing assistance is some of the care the community is able to provide. My loved one's room is always clean. The staff are very attentive to my loved one's needs. The community will also provide transportation to the clinic for my loved one and there is no charge for this.

A very good community. They didn't feel they would have been able to care for my loved one.
This looked like a very good community but it was two story and I felt like it would be to much for my loved one to get around in a bigger community.
While our loved one was there everything stared out great, the staff were friendly but then we started having some issues. The care services were slipping through the cracks and they loss attention to detail especially. with their protocols

A Place for Mom has scored Magnolia Court 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
