It's been a much better experience than I thought. Mom has been happy with the food, activities, and staff. Yes, I'd absolutely recommend to others.
My Brother has been a resident of Vista del Mar Senior Living for nearly 3 years, and we were very happy with our choice. We had problems finding another Assisted Living facility in Culver City, and Vista del Mar was perfect. It has met all of my Brother's needs and he has been very happy there. We have since found another Assisted Living facility in Culver City, and that is the only reason my Brother is moving. The new facility will have big shoes to fill. The Staff at Vista del Mar, (especially [Name removed]) should be proud to be associated with a great Senior Living Center. Thank all of you.

Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home is a community that provides residence to at least two seniors who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home community provides its residents with care by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer healthcare services for people who are unable to properly take care of their own needs due to their aging.
Nursing homes can be a helpful and comfortable living alternative for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will frequently allow persons 55 and greater (a rarity in the realm of senior care).Examples of care services and amenities provided at nursing homes might include friendly visitor programs, monitoring of medication, home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities), and meal programs. Many occupants are single women with less social support, and almost fifty percent of nursing home residents are over the age of 85. Nursing homes are required to provide specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), emergency dental services, a professionallly directed program of activities, and dietary services to residents. The most common mental disease experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings, memory recall, and decision making capabilities. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include a private room, unless medically needed, special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment, and specially prepared food.
