Southern Pines Gracious Living has been a very good place for my mom, small enough that everyone knows each other and greats you when you come in. Staff is curious and helpful when needed. They don't provide nurse care or therapy but have some companies on site that do. I could not be happier with those providers!

For me it wasn't about the money it was about the care that they give to the residents. I would say to go to this community. I tell my wife that when I get older I am going to go here and it was the best place that I looked at. They have activities like religious activities, bingo, yoga, cards, knitting while they hang out and more for the residents to stay busy and active in the community.

Independent Living

For many seniors, the burden of home ownership and the maintenance of daily tasks and chores might be a deterrent to enjoying an otherwise independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities offer a great remedy to this situation. Basic chores such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they choose, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they prefer. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always utilize the services of independent care providers. There are a number of expenditures and benefits to balance while choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in your service plan: Waiting list deposit, cable TV, parking, move-in fee, internet access, laundry, initial assessment fee, and field trips. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include golf course, game/TV room, concierge services, transportation, fitness center & swimming pool, healthcare center, beauty salon & barber shop, and laundry service.
