She was the first to live in her room. She had to be placed in a separate behavioral center for ten which helped her. They have a nurse on site 24/7 and they took her to the hospital when she suddenly became ill with RSV on December 31. The ratio of staff to residents is good. She seemed to like the food. They have Art, music, game activities appropriate for memory care. Sundaes for snacks sometimes. The value for cost is higher than some other places but we were pleased with the facility.

Many seniors may be physically and mentally capable of living without assistance, but cost of owning a home might deter them from enjoying an otherwise independent life. Independent Living Communities provide a solid remedy to this situation. Basic needs such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is maintained, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they wish, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering an opportunity to entertain guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a number of expenses and benefits to consider when determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in your care plan: meals, utilities, internet access, cable TV, move-in fee, initial assessment fee, parking, and housekeeping. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include laundry service, transportation, healthcare center, golf course, private rental hall, security guards, restaurant-style dining hall, and beauty salon & barber shop.
