It's a pretty good place. Ifel like, we got our moneys worth. My loved one is in the memory care unit, and they went from six to ten residents, which is still a pretty small group. They do a pretty good job, for what they have to deal with, especially since it's dementia patients. I am very impressed at how they do their job. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

When we came in, we were impressed by the appearance. It was welcoming and very appealing. The staff was very welcome benefit. They were at first, and still are very approachable and friendly. Our needs are met and, as I like to tell others, we are spoiled Rotten- What a blessing.

AVIVA River Bend in Rochester, MN

We liked the lay out of the apartments. Easy for handicap to get around. It is owned by an investment firm. Suck seniors dry. Staff very friendly and trying to do their best. You can always get a hamburger, which is good, if you don't like what they serve. It's an example of rich getting richer and sucking middle class poor.

When I moved in 14 years ago it was brand new. It's independent living and you're responsible for your own apartment. You have to be 62 or older to get in here. They don't do cleaning or anything like that....

Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally able to live without assistance, but the cost burden of home ownership might deter them from living an independent life. Independent Living Communities provide a convenient solution to this situation. Meals, leisure activities and housekeeping chores are taken care of while you are free to use your time as you desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between locations, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of private health care professionalls, they may always do so. There are an assortment of expenses and benefits to keep in mind when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in the plan: internet access, utilities, field trips, move-in fee, meals, transportation, private phone, and cable TV. The luxuries associated with independent living include private rental hall, security guards, restaurant-style dining hall, beauty salon & barber shop, fitness center & swimming pool, laundry service, healthcare center, and game/TV room.
