Trustwell Living at Russ Place in Ruston, LA

My brother signed on the dotted line because of the cost. But he stays there because of the administrator and the staff. They make sure that he gets the medical care he needs and takes him to his appointments and check in on him everyday to make sure that he gets what he needs. You have to be buzzed in to get into the facility and you have to have a mask and your temperature is taken.

We love it here. Mom gets excellent care. She is extremely happy. She hasn't been this happy in a long time. We feel totally at peace with her being here. She's not in danger, and no one goes in and steals her stuff or anything like that. The staff is very trustworthy. They always keep me informed on how she's doing when I'm not there. And I think the cost is goof for what we're getting.

Complete guide to independent living

Ruston, Louisiana

Independent Living

If you would like the peace of mind of having many of your frequent tasks handled while living the way you want, you might want to consider an Independent Living Community. Frequent needs such as housekeeping and meal planning are accounted for, which permits residents more opportunities to live their lives as they see fit. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of private health care providers, they always have the option. There are an assortment of benefits and costs to consider while determining an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are covered in your care plan: internet access, utilities, laundry, meals, Waiting list deposit, wellness program, transportation, and field trips. The amenities associated with independent living include beauty salon & barber shop, healthcare center, laundry service, golf course, restaurant-style dining hall, transportation, concierge services, and game/TV room.
