Everything is wonderful and clean at this community. The staff are very nice and attentive to my aunt and especially in her time of need after losing her dog. My aunt is adjusting well and has gained 10 pounds since staying with the community. My aunt loves the meals provided, she reads me the menu everyday! Overall it is a good place for my aunt and I would most certainly recommend this community.
There is something going on all the time, morning, afternoon, and night. Sundays they have morning and afternoon activities but do not have any in the evenings. They do things like karaoke, church group, entertainment, etc. My mom is a pretty picky eater and she loves the food! She said it is great. They only have one thing on the menu but there are alternatives to the menu if you do not like what is being served. The advantage to the Glenwood opposed to the other two I visited is it is a smaller facility with only 40 residents, so it is more intimate and personalized care. Everyone knows everyone, it is like a small town. She is happy here and we would definitely recommend them to others and already have.
I have lived at Evergreen for almost 4 years! I love it here. The staff is always wonderful and helpful with any problems I have. We have a great activity program and always get people involved. I love it here!

Independent living offers a stress-free lifestyle for older adults. Independent living communities don’t provide personal care or supervision, but do offer generally healthy adults opportunities for socialization and hassle-free living. Independent living services often include:
Many seniors may be physically and mentally capable of living without assistance, but the financial burden of home ownership and the upkeep of the property might deter them from enjoying an otherwise independent life. Independent Living Communities provide a convenient alternative. Food preparation, recreational activities and housekeeping are handled while you are able to use your time as you choose. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of private health care professionalls, they may always do so. There are a variety of benefits and expenses to keep in mind while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are covered in the care plan: move-in fee, transportation, private phone, utilities, laundry, parking, housekeeping, and field trips. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include concierge services, restaurant-style dining hall, game/TV room, beauty salon & barber shop, healthcare center, laundry service, security guards, and fitness center & swimming pool.
