We explored a number of options, and was very impressed with the proffesionalism at Veranda. I am glad we made this choice, for my loved one.
The community was very helpful and friendly. They were easy to work with. The community does allow window visits. Once my loved one was placed on hospice we were able to see them in person. The nursing staff were pretty quick to respond to our questions about our loved one.
The staff are very, very kind and interested in the residents. They give 5-star service. They're also very interested in interacting with the families, and they welcome the families to come visit. If they have any staff shortages, the administrators will even fill in. They have great communication with emails and phone calls. And the food is quite good.

If you or your loved one desire the convenience of having housekeeping and chores managed by professionalls while living life at your own pace, consider independent living. Residents can live their lives as they desire while their food is cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and social activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between locations, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of private health care professionalls, they may always do so. There are a number of expenses and advantages to consider when choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are included in your service plan: meals, initial assessment fee, private phone, internet access, parking, laundry, wellness program, and utilities. The conveniences that pertain to independent living include community activities, fitness center & swimming pool, concierge services, golf course, security guards, restaurant-style dining hall, game/TV room, and private rental hall.
