When my loved one was ill, the staff were very responsive to our phone calls and also offered supportive and medical care to them. The staff are very friendly and caring.

Westhaven Apartment Homes in Lakewood, CO
4.0

I have moved in to Westhaven Apartment Homes, and I really like it so far. I like that I can still maintain an independent lifestyle here, but that it is also a very active and social retirement facility. The staff is great, and they have a lot of activities like Bingo, movies, crafts, story time; there’s a gym, too. It’s an older building, but it’s clean, and they do a good job keeping it up. I also like that it is cost efficient, and I would recommend it to others looking to keep up an independent lifestyle.

Brighton, Colorado

Independent Living

If you or your loved one desire the peace of mind of having your housekeeping taken care of while living your life at your own pace, you might want to consider independent living. Food preparation, leisure activities and housekeeping responsibilities are taken care of while you are unrestricted to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a number of advantages and expenditures to keep in mind while determining an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are covered in the plan: cable TV, field trips, private phone, laundry, transportation, parking, initial assessment fee, and utilities. The amenities associated with independent living include transportation, game/TV room, concierge services, community activities, beauty salon & barber shop, laundry service, security guards, and healthcare center.
