Sycamore Hills By the Bay in Hercules, CA

The only improvement that I can think of that needs to be made at Sycamore Hills By the Bay is there is not enough parking. That is my only complaint about this facility. Everyone is very nice, the facility is really clean. I am really happy with my experience here so far.

We toured a few different communities and this one seemed to be the best fit for my mom. She is doing well here. She is starting to meet new residents and make some friends. She is participating in some of the activities. She really likes the food. The community is always clean and well maintained.

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community provides residents the choice to live their active lives while ensuring their essential needs have been met. Basic needs such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is maintained, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they wish, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they choose. While policies vary between locations, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing support is desired, residents may always utilize the services of private health care professionalls. There are a variety of expenses and advantages to consider while determining an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are included in the plan: parking, internet access, private phone, housekeeping, utilities, meals, transportation, and wellness program. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include security guards, transportation, game/TV room, fitness center & swimming pool, restaurant-style dining hall, laundry service, golf course, and concierge services.
