My brother signed on the dotted line because of the cost. But he stays there because of the administrator and the staff. They make sure that he gets the medical care he needs and takes him to his appointments and check in on him everyday to make sure that he gets what he needs. You have to be buzzed in to get into the facility and you have to have a mask and your temperature is taken.
We chose The Arbors & Terrace of Ruston because I knew a few people that worked here and we know several of the people that live here as well. When we visited for our tour it was just a no brainer for my parents, they loved it right away. The apartments are a really good size, we were able to fit a lot of their furniture. The staff and care has been wonderful. They have plenty of activities going on. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

For many seniors, cost of owning a home might be a deterrent to an independent life. Independent Living Communities provide a great alternative to this situation. Basic tasks such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is maintained, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they choose, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between locations, numerous residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing support is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private health care professionalls. There are a variety of advantages and expenditures to balance when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in the service plan: utilities, transportation, field trips, move-in fee, wellness program, private phone, parking, and laundry. The conveniences associated with independent living include security guards, game/TV room, transportation, fitness center & swimming pool, healthcare center, private rental hall, golf course, and community activities.
