We ended up placing her in Memory care at Cadence in Wake Forest. She was there for 5 months before the Lord took her home. I believe Cadence did the best they could. It was a clean environment and lots of fun activity. Honestly, it's hard because no one takes care of your loved one like you would. Having said that we wouldn't have done anything different.

I would tell others they are well worth getting . I have already told others about Senior Helpers, as well. Anytime there was a problem, they would communicate with me. Inytime I had a concern I was able to talk with them, and they were willing to work with me.

Grandma Joan's provided me with a very easy to use platform to find and employ a live-in caregiver for my 104-year-old dad. All the administrative details which would have been very hard for me to find out and deal with were included in the step-by-step guidance provided. On one hand the service is pricey but on the other, not easy to find a comprehensive package that would have resulted in such a trustworthy arrangement, which was the overarching criterion. California has stricter rules about payment to caregivers than other states so cost is simply higher but given that as an unavoidable feature, this was still a more viable set up than I could otherwise find.
