For the overall experience, there have been a few issues, but they were immediately corrected when discussed. My mom usually can't recall what she has eaten, but is ready for the next meal. My mom is in memory care with limited activities as compared to the assisted living facility, but they do provide outings and activities. I do think the cost is reasonable for the care provided and my peace of mind.

We really love Woodland Ridge. They have been really good to my mom and we are very thankful for you to helping us find it. She has been there a year and has received excellent care. She loves her room and accommodations, the meals are good, the staff is friendly, the activities are fun
We toured Woodland Ridge Assisted Living during our search for Memory Care for our loved one. There are lots of outdoor areas for the residents. However, the rooms are small and the pricing was difficult to understand.
I toured with Woodland Ridge Assisted Living and did not have the best experience. Based off of what I saw, it was an old facility and felt dirty. These were the main reasons we did not choose Woodland Ridge.
Woodland Ridge has been an excellent community for our loved one, we have already recommended them to other families and will continue to do so. We have to highly the staff - they are so caring and compassionate not only to the residents but to their families. They are so professional and have great communication. It really is a warm and family oriented community, and you can just see the joy across the residents faces. The meals and dining services gets a 5 plus, our loved likes to eat and the chef will make sure to come around during meal time to see if he wants seconds or anything else - so very accommodating and always makes sure our loved one is well fed. The activities are definitely not limited they have so many different things for the residents to do - they are written up on an easel and posted on the calendar. IF you time it right you can hear the harp being played, they have the local choirs from the school come to play music and sing. There are service dogs, bingo, different board games and karaoke. On Friday's they go out to different shopping stores sometimes go apple picking and then to eat at the local BBQ restraints. It is an amazing community.

They are dishonest at this community. They say one thing to get you in but once you are there they don't remember what was stated and state that they don't have the services that were needed any longer.

They brought in physical therapy to help my husband and he improved greatly while he was here. He raved about the food, they are chef prepared meals on site. It was worth the money knowing he was safe and taken care of here. My father was actually here years ago in assisted living and he did really well. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

Beautiful setting, but the building is old and there are no room configurations that are right for [name removed]. All they had were studios of different sizes, but nothing with a separate BR. I was very impressed by the outstanding activities director and only wish she could be at whatever community we choose.

Response from Woodland Ridge Assisted Living
March 8, 2017Thanks for allowing us to be part of your family! We are honored to be able to care for your mom.
I investigated several facilities as we neared the end of Skilled Nursing, met most with great angst about the fit for my mother, and then found Woodland Ridge (WR). They made my ulcer go away. I was very comfortable with the introduction and information I received, the caregivers I met, and the environment for my mother. The WR team that went to the Skilled Nursing facility to evaluate Mom also received rave reviews for their thoroughness, warmth, and professionalism from my mother’s nurses there. (Some others did not.) Now that “we” have been at WR for a while, I can honestly say it is where I would choose to be for me if I were in the same situation as my mother. The staff is excellent in terms of their abilities, attention to needs, active care, understanding of residents, and communication with family. They seem very cohesive. I have not seen turnover, and most have been there for quite a long time. They have levels of care, and so can meet changing needs of most residents. Overall, they seem to run a tight ship (which I appreciate) with warmth and a supportive community spirit. My father and I have developed a strong communicative relationship with the caregivers there, so we feel well-connected with all aspects of my mother's needs. No, it’s not “home” and not the path we had planned. This is hard on all of us. But, WR has helped us manage this as well as we can, and we sleep well at night because we have complete confidence that my mother is cared for and supported when we are not there.

Response from Woodland Ridge Assisted Living
February 26, 2016Thank you for your confidence in our staff. We appreciate the privilege of caring for your mom.
My wife is a resident in Assisted Living at Woodland Ridge and I am very pleased with this facility. I visit Woodland Ridge almost every day to visit my wife who has dementia. Staff members are always cheerful and encouraging to all of the residents as far as I can see and I am there almost every day. The staff is always helpful when I express a need or for information. They also keep a close eye on the medical needs of each resident. The staff has very little turnover, none that I have seen since my family has been involved. Also I have detected NO conflicts between staff members. Woodland Ridge has various activities from late morning through the afternoon that they encourage the residents to attend dependent on their individual interest. These activities range from music, music by visiting musicians coordinated by the Activities Director who also coordinated visits by visiting spiricial personnel of various faiths, visits by therapy animals, to outside Bar B Q's and festivals when the weather allows. They have seasonal celebration parties for the residents and their families. In addition, they have scenic and mall trips for all those that can and want to go coordinated and supervised by the Activities Director. My daughter and I visited several facilities before picking this one. I can honestly say that this is where I would choose for me if I had the option and ability to make that choice.

Response from Woodland Ridge Assisted Living
December 11, 2015We are honored to care for your family. Thank you for giving us this opportunity.
I'm a volunteer for Homestead Hospice and visit this facility frequently. I have no allegiance and am unbiased when I tell you this is a facility I would have my family member staying at, if the need occurs. It's very professional, does not have much staff turnover, and the patients as a whole are happy and well taken care of from eating to just overall comfort. They do their best to entertain the patients too, from music to letting therapy animals visit from time to time.

Response from Woodland Ridge Assisted Living
December 3, 2015Thank you so much for your thoughtful and honest review of our community. We love our residents and our volunteers!
Nice place and location but typical fee-for-service pricing that is risky on our budget.

Too far from my home. May consider if facilities closer to home are not available or acceptable.

A Place for Mom has scored Woodland Ridge Assisted Living 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
