I just love Windsong at Northridge so much. I can text the staff or call them and they always call back. They are absolutely wonderful and honest and upfront about absolutely everything and I really appreciate that. I had visited about 6 different places and Windsong at Northridge was by far the best. They are also fully staffed which is huge especially in this day and age.... Read more

This memory care home is struggling. There have been numerous changes with staff, not just the care staff but management as well. They are only about 1/2 full possibly because they raised the price of a room by [removed] a month in October. They do not have transportation to medical appointments, yet only for field trips. They are very low staffed. Calls made by our loved one go unanswered often. I know they are trying to get better staff and take care of residents but they are a work in progress.

I like Windsong at Northridge, the activities, and the fact that there is a roundabout for my husband to walk around. I looked at other facilities that just had one long strip, with activities on one end and dining on the other. Some were built like a hotel and my husband would have been lost. He needs to clear his mind and walk around, and that part of it seems to really help him. Instead of him wanting to escape, he feels like he already has because of the layout. The layout is great, it’s built like a circle with different stations and activities within that circle. Every corner you turn it's something different. The circular layout is perfect for those who like to wander. They have small pool tables and you’ll see the residents sitting with one another as if they’re in a café. It’s very appealing. The staff hang up the residents' names and photos of themselves on their doors so they can recognize what room belongs to them. Sundays seem to be the only day they are running short on staff and I think they should keep regular staffing on Sundays. I have visited on Sundays and seen residents kind of wandering around. I'm unsure if they've made that change or not. Other than that, they are great and they treat him well. They’ll call me immediately if there is an incident and we work to get it resolved instantly. Overall I really like Windsong.

you can feel confident their loved one will be well-taken care and safe. Room size is good, the food is hit or miss, breakfast, and lunch is great but dinner could be improved I would recommend this community to others.

Definitely a contender. I loved how even the building was designed to let the clients to do the tasks etc. that help them feel a little more independent but with supervision (ie. a full kitchen in the middle of the common area so they can cook safely with appropriate supervision, and they can do their own laundry if they choose to with supervision). New, clean, well designed building. Love the Montessori approach to care!!!!

A Place for Mom has scored Windsong at Northridge 3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
