We have to give kudos to the Gals at Assisting Hands. They made sure he got to dinner, activities, and outside time. They made sure he had a good variety, not just hamburgers and fries. They had activities that he could participate in, plus the Veteran's Day ceremony was real great as he was in the Air Force and they acknowledged that. It is expensive, but it was worth the cost.

Our Grandparents and Mother experienced each level of care at WELW and we found that each one met our expectations. The staff and level of attention and care was great. I highly recommend this facility.

Water’s Edge of Lake Wales was a wonderful place for our Mom! She transitioned through Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care and it was so nice having all of this happen in the same building. The most important thing was that our Mom was comfortable in all three phases. The staff and facility at Water’s Edge are top notch and if we had it to do all over again we’d place Mom at Water’s Edge.

Bad experience. We had a nice sales consultant .The independent living spaces were perfect. All along as part of their sales pitch they stressed an openness to customizing. After a couple of discussions, which were put in writing each time we had our agreement. However, when I got the final letter I was shocked - nothing agreed upon was there. And I mean nothing PLUS costs were higher. The manager (who had been copied all along on everything) decided to ignore it all. She made the excuse that she hadn't been involved and thus the things we had agreed upon weren't something they did. She literally threw her salesperson under the bus. It was a huge red flag. Even if you have things in writing it appears that doesn't matter. Imagine once your loved one is already there. It was a total waste of time. Without trust what do you have?

A beautiful community with wonderful caring employees. My father may need more skilled nursing unless scheduled physical therapy makes improvement.

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. I looked at a few communities in the area and this one stood out to me as being very nice! The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional.

A Place for Mom has scored Water's Edge of Lake Wales 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
