The workers here are phenomenal. Although the facility and building itself is a bit older, the tremendous care with which the residents are treated is just great. The daily work of feeding, clothing, washing, etc. is second to none! The staff here really know what they are doing. My mother was always clean, happy, and her room was also clean and orderly. They also provide regular entertainment (singers, piano players, etc.) and the residents group together as friends and watch TV and play cards and bingo. The meals are ok and healthy and well-balanced. And to top it off, the cost here is very reasonable and the most reasonable in this area (South Bay/Torrance).

They community keeps everything very well cleaned, neat and well painted. The staff was always very accommodating and took the time to call us for dinner. If we called them, they were always quick to make sure our concerns were addressed. The care was good; they were always making sure everything was safe for the residents, like showering, and assisted any where it was needed. Every month, the staff created a calendar of activities including every-day bingo, which my mother loved. Villa Sorrento was reasonably priced for the level of care the residents receive.

Large 2 story facility w/ elevator, good amount of daily activities and Sunday religious services. Additional $600-$2000 for additional care including incontinent care. Near Torrance Memorial Medical Center.

I was greeted upon entering. Seemed to be a clean facility. Didn’t have handrails in any of the hallways. No doctor on the premise, only a nurse practitioner comes in. Ones own primary physician would have be arranged to come in if needed.

Nice clean facility with a caring staff. They refuse to accept electronic transfer of funds from our bank using Zelle or any other modern process. This causes significant delay for the bank to cut a paper check and then put it in the mail. Secure electronic funds transfer would be much more efficient and effective for both the client and Villa Sorrento. We are frustrated with their policy on this issue.

Mom liked the facility and the abundance of social events. My main concern was the caregiver to resident ratio. During the day there are 3 caregivers with 1 medical tech available. At night there are 2 caregivers with 1 medical tech available. There are currently 134 residents.

Tour guide was pleasant and welcoming. First floor brighter and more expensive; second floor stuffy and dark. Not what I was hoping for.

I love this community for my mother the staff is very supportive and responsive when any issues have come up. They keep it very clean and the garden are is in tip top shape. She loves to play the piano from time to time also. She loves that they let her have her dog here. They take her to her doctor's appointments and that's great help for me. I would recommend this to friends and family definitely getting my value here.

My mom has been here for respite care and physical therapy while she regains her strength so that she can return to her own home. She has enjoyed joining in the activities with the other residents, going to the dining room and her room is very nice, they have supplied her with everything she needs for her stay here. I would recommend taking a tour here as the community and staff are great.

Villa Sorrento is such a great place! I loved that they have assigned seating in the dining area, and the placemats are laminated photos of the resident who sits there. Allows them to see who is not there, and it also helps the senior to see where their place is. Room size, and layout are fine. Most convenient to doctors, hospitals, and my home. However it has a long waiting list for shared rooms and they can give no idea of time it would take to get a shared room. It comes recommended also from a friend who used to visit a resident there.

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken at this community for my loved one. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I liked the open floor plan as well as other amenities for the residents. It was just no the right fit for my dad in the end decision but I would recommend it to anyone.

My mother in law was only at Villa Sorrento for 4 days before she had a fall and we realized she needed a higher level of care. We wish she would have been able to go back because the caretakers there were wonderful, especially the care manager. The place was clean and well maintained. There were a few things they could have done differently.

We liked the Villa Sorrento but my loved one did not. In my opinion, it was the best value for the cost. It is perfect for people who are on a budget because they included a lot of care into their monthly rate. I would recommend this community.

The caregivers are horrible. I got my mom a place at Villa Sorento. According to the reviews that I read, the caregivers goes out of the way to care for their elderly. This is a fallacy!!! They treated my mom badly!!! Something that I couldn't accept. My mom always complain about how they mostly give her the food that she does not like. My mom doesn't have an Alzheimer's. She is just under the hospice care and all she just want is to stay in an elderly community. I am telling everyone about their service because I would not recommend it for anyone!!!

A Place for Mom has scored Villa Sorrento 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
