The memory care at Ventura Townhouse is one of the best atmospheres for care in Ventura. The staff are kind and keep things well organized. The grounds are very well kept and make a nice comfortable space for families to visit their loved one. The fact that my mom can walk in open air around the property is one of the reasons we like the Townehouse. If you want a care center in Ventura, CA, don’t hesitate to look into the Ventura Townhouse.

The staff at Ventura Townehouse are exceptionally helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to help. My housekeeper is friendly, communicates well and is always on time. The move in process was smooth, I had no issues. I certainly would recommend Ventura Townehouse to others for Independent Living.

The process of selecting an apartment at Ventura Townehouse was lovely and all the residents appeared and sounded happy - especially if they are more independent. We picked this community because of the cost, amenities and services most closely aligned with what mom needed. Unfortunately, the director of resident care left short after [name removed]moved in and was replaced by someone without any healthcare training or background. The result has been us fighting for care considerations that have fallen on deaf ears, resulting in a week-long hospital stay and doctors orders for what we had been advocating for since before mom was hospitalized. The lack of a health background by the director of resident care has made a negative impact on mom and our experience, and would have I made a different decision if that staffing change had happened before we entered into a contract with them. For those who do not require care, Ventura Townehouse is a lovely option. If your loved knew more than independent living and basic care/assistance - especially above the Level III package - you may want to ask for a meeting/conversation with the care director and be prepared to ask specific questions. He has good answers at the surface, but go one level deeper and you will see that his responses are very superficial and cracks begin to emerge. He has no sense of health impact, rational approach to staffing needs (like rotating team members versus having a set team - especially for those who need more care or show signs of needing memory care). It is a shame because common sense would do caste that some of the care decisions that are made do not make sense for the residents or staff. To be honest, the director of resident care has no business being in that role and should go back to facility management.

Ventura Townehouse community is expensive, internet should be included in the price, transportation to banks, Dr, etc is challenging and limited, recently further limited. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

The community is very friendly and kind. a big plus: independent living is grouped WITH assisted living…not separated. those who are able help with those who are less so. both benefit in the process. helps build community and solidarity….and a greater sense of caring.

I toured Ventura Townehouse and it was a good tour. The cleanliness was very good. The staff and overall friendliness was very good also. Ultimately, we decided on another facility in the area.
My loved one really likes the community. All the residents are smiling and talking to each other, and this is great for my loved one. The staff greet all the residents by their first name. The staff are great to answer all of my questions or address any concerns I have about my loved one. There are options for meals to choose from, and there are three meals a day served to the residents. The socialization with other residents is great for my loved one and other residents.

I like the community. This community had too many residents for me.
I like the fact that they have large grounds with trees and places to walk. Many communities are just a building in a busy city area, and I like that you're not stuck inside like that at Ventura. It's quite clean, although they're in the middle of remodeling, so there's a little bit of dust. The staff are great. They're friendly, attentive, and responsive. They have a lot of activities going on. I haven't really had any problems here.

We went to a couple different places and out of all the ones we visited we found that this facility was the nicest. It is definitely higher end assisted living compared to others we saw in Venutura County. I think the location is good and the staff members here are really friendly. For the price of living here the food quality is not good, we have not been impressed with it. I do think that they should offer wine as a choice for guests when you come to visit. Overall, I would recommend the facility to others.

We had a great experience. It was wonderful there. The caregivers they were all friendly, conscientious, and that made you feel like family. We chose this community because the difference was night and day from others we toured. From the minute you walk in it is so welcoming , light, bright, open and just a really nice atmosphere. During the tour all of the residents were raving about how happy they were there. The food was good, a lot of choices, and catering to the residents dietary needs. The setting and grounds are beautiful.

The staff are really nice and really friendly. Their apartment is nice. They started in the independent living and are now in the assisted living and it was an easy transition.

My Father in Law's age, multiple health issues and distance from us required that a difficult decision had to be made. Together we decided he needed to be closer to us. After visiting several local assisted living facilities, we choose the Ventura Townhouse. Deciding factors included, closeness to family, a large diverse population, an attentive staff, expansive, well lite lobby and dining areas, large outside grounds for walking, easy to follow facility layout, beautiful views of the nearby ocean and affordable, well appointed apartments. He moved into a studio apt in the on [date removed]. We brought some furniture, framed pictures and other personal items from his home in Riverside county. He, along with his daughter and myself, have made two more trips down make doctors appointments and retrieve additional personal items. Each trip has helped to ease his transition away from the home that he had shared with his wife, who passed away in 2013, for 21 of their 63 years together. He is to return next week for what will be his last visit to his PCP. We are in the process of selecting a new PCP in Ventura. This was the first trip that he requested that he get back right away, because he is taking an excursion with a tour group from the Towne House to visit poppy fields near Lancaster, Next week he is to go to the Chumash Casino. He has made friends, enjoys meal time very much and seems genuinely happy for the first time in months.

Toured the facility on [date removed]. We noted that the lobby was open and bright, with lots of windows providing natural light and lots of comfortable seating. The garden area was well tended and offered extensive walking paths and seating options. The rooms are well laid-out and offer a full kitchen, with a mini-fridge and gas range. The tower rooms also all have a small balcony, with room for a couple of chairs and some plants. The upper floors, and the common areas on the top floor, have fantastic view of the ocean, Channel Islands, or Ventura hills. The facility has nurses available until 6:00 PM seven days a week, with Certified Nursing Assistants and Medical Technicians available on site after hours. The facility also provides a twice-daily "health check" for each resident, where they make sure the resident is healthy and active. I'll note that some of the floors could use fresh paint, and some of the carpets are showing wear. But they also have fresh flowers (orchids in particular) all around, and overall this feels like a lively, inviting place to live.

The Ventura Townhouse memory care has an attentive caring and supportive staff. My moms studio cottage is in a quaint setting. Her front door opens to the outdoors and her surroundings have many plants and trees which give it a home feel. I visit often and always feel welcome. When we walk around the property we are surrounded by tall pine trees and much lush green surroundings. The food is very good. Her laundry and room get cleaned daily.

We toured 5 facilities including The Townhouse. This was by far the best facility overall. A most loving place...staff are tremendous. The young dining room servers are wonderful. Food is consistently good and the dining room looks like a fine dining establishment. My husband and I live in a garden villa and we have a little dog! We are very happy here.
