I was looking for a place for my Mom who has dementia. She has no medical issues other than that so I was hesitant to put her in a large nursing facility as she gets fretful if there is too much activity. Then a Place for Mom recommended the Unity Home. It's a private home where my Mom shares a room with another dementia patient and there are 4 patients in total. It is great for her because she gets care 24/7 from a Registered Nurse and nurses aids. it is nice and quiet and they keep her clean, well fed and occupied so she seems very content. The price is affordable so my Mom could afford it using the money from her pension and social security. She has been there a little over 3 weeks and every time I visited her she was well cared for. [Removed], the owner of the business is very professional and also a warm and caring person who is very gentle with her patients.... Read more
Unity Home is a care home located in Commack, New York, that provides seniors with assisted living and memory care in a residential home setting. Residents in care homes enjoy customized care from a staff who can focus more on individual care needs than in traditional assisted living facilities, thanks to the community's low resident-to-caregiver ratio. Outside the care home, there are many neighborhood businesses nearby, making running errands and attending appointments quick and convenient for Unity Home residents.

Unity Home has done an excellent job looking after my loved one. He is well taken care of, and really seems to have settled in nicely. I like that it is a smaller more intimate family type setting. They all eat meals together, and there is lots of individual attention for each resident. He took very well to it, and seems to be happy here!
