Overall seems good, compared to things we have heard about other area facilities; my mom is treated well and with respect and seems to like living there. She has made several friends there and generally gets all of her needs met. Beautiful and clean facility! Aides and kitchen staff are very friendly to residents! Difficulty with retaining staff in higher level roles (head nurse especially!) and retaining aides, likely due to complaints about pay. Some delicious meals; others repetitive, as per my mothers report. Activities have been improving recently, but have been less "engaging" vs movies, bingo, watching musicians, etc than we would have liked over the past year. New activities director has been stepping it up in this area over past 2 months though. This is a very expensive facility! Recommending this beautiful and pleasant community, with hopes that the new director will be able to improve staff numbers and retention issues.

Tribute at Black Hill was a very nice facility. The staff was friendly and welcoming. My father was there for one month of respite care. One issue from a care perspective was with the distribution of his medications. He was given daily meds regularly, but a medication that was to be given PRN (as needed) was not given when requested by my father. Because he couldn't remember the name of the medication, he was given Ibuprofen. At 92, he shouldn't have been responsible for remembering a difficult drug name, especially since the nursing staff had been alerted to his condition. Also, checking on residents didn't seem to take place as often as reported. My father slept through lunch one day and no one came to get him. We were told that caregivers check rooms when residents don't show up for a meal. This was not the case one Saturday when my sister came to visit. Overall, I think my dad had adequate care during his 30-day stay, but some tweaks need to be made.

Response from Tribute at Black Hill by Cogir
November 14, 2024Hi Annette, we appreciate your honest feedback, as we are always looking for ways to improve. Thank you for leaving feedback. Please reach out to us at (410) 304-6072 so we may identify ways to improve your experience.
There seems to be a lot of staff turnover. Some caregivers are very nice to the residents but some are not nice, according to my mom. There are a lot of activities for the residents to participate in if they choose which is a definite plus. The meat is often overcooked and tough. The service time is very slow.

June 20, 2024Hello! Thank you so much for patience during our transition. We're glad you enjoy the activities. We'll look into the meat being overcooked. If you reach out, we may be able to offer special accommodations with your mom's meals. Thank you for letting us know! - Tribute at Black Hill
I have been very pleased with the staff at Tribute at Black Hill. The facility is very nice and does not have the appearance of a typical assisted living facility. My dad has been very pleased with the food, especially their hamburgers. He is settling in well and seems to be adjusting well to living there.

March 22, 2024Hello! Our condolences about your dad. Although we only knew him a week, he truly was a wonderful man. Please let us know if we can help during this difficult time. - Tribute at Black Hill
Tribute at Black Hill is very visually appealing. It smells amazing all the time. The food is good. The people are friendly. If your family member has additional needs you will have to keep on them and check up regularly. One suggestion that I do have is that they need more activities and outings. What they advertised is not what they are providing. However, overall I would recommend Tribute at Black Hill to others.

Tribute at Black Hill is a great facility and so far has exceeded our expectations. What we like the most about the community is the different activities going on as well as the staff members. We appreciate all the exercises and cognitive stuff they have going on there. Based on the experience so far we would recommend this community to others.

They could improve with their nighttime care. My mother rings her bell and it could take more than an hour sometimes for them to respond. This is very stressful and ridiculous for the amount of money being paid each month. I am not sure if I would recommend Tribute at Black Hill, I guess it would depend on the needs of their loved ones.

We think that Tribute at Black Hill is a great place! The most important feature is that fact that it does not have that old age/rehab/hospital smell to it. It is not institutional and it is more like a hotel! Overall it really is a great facility.

They are slow to respond to call buttons. Only in the past 4 months have they had adequate RN/LPN staffing. The CNA level of cg varies greatly ( isn't that across the board?) The director is giving it his all and has made great improvements. I feel we are in a rough spot for elder care at the moment. Nationwide. The activities are good. There was a long period without activities. Yet they still charged full price!

We looked at this community along with several others in the area. All the communities were good. We were between this community and another. We ended up allowing our loved one make the choice, and they chose the other community due to location to family.
Tribute at Black Hill was great. What we liked most was how great the management was, they were always very accommodating. Based on the experience we had with the Tribute community, we would absolutely recommend them to other families.

Tribute at Black Hill is a beautiful facility. The people are very friendly, both the staff and the residents. My loved one gives me mixed reviews about the food and tells me it can be repetitious. Our main complaint is inconsistent response times from the caregivers. Sometimes they're very quick to respond, and other times the wait time can be very long due to seemingly understaffed circumstances, although management has told me that's not the case. But overall, we've had a generally positive experience.

This was a nice community and my pick. However, it was too far for my loved ones.
The staff is great, and they do well with multi-tasking. It's a beautiful facility. The staff is kind and attentive. They have a variety of activites, which keeps the residents engaged. It is filled with light, art, and gives an eloquent hotel feeling.

Tribute at Black Hill has been great for my loved one and the family. The staff are nice and they are responsive to the family's questions or concerns. My loved one is content here. This is a newer community and it stood out to us. The community is able to help with medication management for my loved one.

When time came to make the difficult decision to find an assisted living community for my ex-wife I have evaluated quite a few places in Montgomery County. I found Tribute the most pleasant, and I was not disappointed. Others already wrote about the beautiful new place, open spaces inside and outside, the wide varieties of activities, excellent food, etc. I would like to emphasize the caring staff that includes everyone from the director and administrators of Tribute to nurses, assistants, maintenance, concierge, cleaning crew etc. Besides that, Tribute is being run very efficiently, everyone has time for a nice word or for helping when someone needs it. When my ex-wife was transferred to memory care I have experienced the same amazing quality of care. I only can say: Thank you Tribute.
