We are happy with the care she received. Sometimes getting in touch with someone in management about a question was tough, but that wasn't often. We never saw issues with cleanliness. The staff were always very friendly. The majority of the time quality of care was good. Sometimes her scheduled showers would get delayed, it would get done but maybe a day or two late. Had one big instance where her managed medication got delayed by almost a week. It was due to a pharmacy provider switch and new doctor approvals needed. But I think some pre-planning could have helped with that. Never any issues with meals. Always seemed to have activities listed. Had some cases where the scheduled activities did not happen, but that seemed to get better recently. Being the first time I've dealt with this, and working with and elderly waiver program in Minnesota to help with costs, it seemed like a good value for the level of care and assistance she needed.... The staff is welcoming, caring and really great with residents. The food served is bland and seems like it's premade or reheated. I think to make food from scratch in house, would be better.

It has been a good experience at Traditions. The staff treats my Mom wonderfully. At first we had some communication hiccups, but I think we have all those straightened out.

This has been a good experience for my loved one and family. It can be expensive though. The staff are pretty responsive to question or concerns the family has. There is a base fee, and there is an additional fee for each 15 minute increment of time that the staff spends with your loved one. The room and three meals a day are included in the base price. There is a calendar of activities for the residents to review and choose from what they want to participate in. The meals are good with a good variety and portion sizes.

While looking, Traditions of Owantonna was our first choice because it looked like the nicest facility within the area.

We chose Traditions because we liked how big the room is, they have a beautiful courtyard area outside to sit, and it is also a newer a facility. There are hardly any activities, I know they have been without an activities director for months but they did just hire someone so hopefully that improves soon. I do not feel the meals provided are balanced, it is a lot of fried foods and not a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables so that could use improvement as well. Otherwise our experience has been good.

I liked this community, however the distance was to far from my area. This was also way larger than what I was looking for for my loved one.

A Place for Mom has scored Traditions of Owatonna II 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
