Generally I would have positive things to say about the staff. Some were excellent and some were lacking. I would remind a friend that their loved one will get better care if they are vigilant and visit daily. Where ever they go the staff will reflect the level care they see in you. This was the case with my mom. We were very involved and attentive to her as a family. The staff at the Pearl responded to that, respected our efforts and matched our efforts. August 10, 2024Ty, thank you for the positive review!
My mom lived at The Pearl at Dallas for four years and they took good care of her. She enjoyed the activities and the garden. The layout of the memory care is locked and safe, and best of all it is designed like a large house instead of a hospital floor. The rooms are not the best designed when you need a roommate but the activities, food, and overall care offset the room. If you can afford an individual room then the room layout is great.

May 3, 2024Hi Misty, thank you so much for your positive comments about our community.
I loved how clean it was. Cleanliness was a biggie for us. I also loved the interactions with patients and that hospice was really on the ball with notifying us of changes. The staff let us know of any additional needs. I wish they had more staffing to attend to patients, but thats just a sign of the times and industry. The quality of care received was great. No complaints at all about staff...just wish there was more.

October 25, 2023Ri, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at The Pearl at Dallas!
The friendliness of the staff members and the quality of care services gets 5+ stars! What we like most about this community is mainly the staff...they are very friendly, approachable, keep us informed of what's going on. Also it is very clean and my dad is very well taken care of. Two of my biggest concerns when we were searching for care for my dad.

May 10, 2023Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so honored that you chose us to care for your dad. We look forward to a long, wonderful relationship.
For the most part, it is good. There is always one bad apple in the bunch though. There are three meals a day served to the residents. The staff communication with the family is good. The activities director really tries hard to engage the residents in the activities offered and keeps the residents busy.

December 15, 2022Hi Anonymous, thank you so much for your positive comments about The Pearl at Dallas! Thank you so much again for your feedback! We hope you have a great day!
The cleanliness is pretty good. We have been mostly happy, but it took some adjusting. We picked this community because, they would take my loved one, and we narrowed down to this community. They could handle taking care of my loved one. We had more confidence in this facility. I would recommend to other familes. Other residents is well cared for, which is an indication if your loved one is being taken care of.

March 9, 2023Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!
This is a good facility. I do worry about the activities and if mom is participating or not. They publish a calendar, but I've been there a few times when they have something scheduled on the calendar and haven't seen an activity happening. I'm going to reach out to the activities director and ask her about it. The staff is really good. They do laundry 3 times a week and mom's room is always clean. Overall, I really like this facility and my only concern so far has been the activities. I would recommend this facility to friends and family.

September 22, 2022Thank you so much for the positive review. I assure you that our activities are happening but sometimes working with our population requires a schedule change. We try very hard to be adaptable to accommodate the majority. Please feel free to reach out to our Program and Outreach director if you have any questions. He'll be more than happy to help you. Thanks again for the review! We strive hard to operate in excellence in all we do.
The people and the CNA's were all very wonderful. Was not overly impressed with the director. She did not live up to the role she would provide. Everyone was wonderful other than what was noted prior. Only other downside or not so great was the meals and dining, do believe it could improve. Overall the experience was very good for the service provided.

September 23, 2022Hi Angie, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at The Pearl at Dallas. We're happy we could meet your expectations with our care staff. I sincerely apologize for not living up to your expectations myself. I try very hard to be there for all my families at both my communities and if I missed the mark in any way I do apologize. I wish I would have known previously so that I could have had the opportunity to address any issues you may have been having. Thank you for choosing The Pearl and allowing all of us to be a part of your mom's journey.
i would give The pearl a zero if possible, from not being able to get my moms prescriptions to not setting up her room, not being able to find any clothes for her, i brought numerous times, to when she died there and the communication was horrible, her bed wasn't made and they didn't even cover her up, another man had her wheelchair. They wanted to charge us for the month, she lived a week there, all her pictures, clock, light, slippers, hairbrush were still in the dresser drawers nobody set anything up for her, she had no chair in the room, her clothes were not hung-up in the closet, she was wheelchair bound and her personal belongings were on the top shelves. They gave her psychotic meds but none of her prescriptions she was on for 20 yrs. I am beyond disappointed in the medical community and care for people with this covid, it really seems that elderly were sent to die, I have talked with others that had similar stories of different places, no meds just laid there with supposedly the worst disease known to man.

September 23, 2022We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a more positive experience with us at The Pearl at Dallas. We sincerely wish you and your family the very best.
They were absolutely wonderful to my husband. The staff was very nice and helpful. They allowed me to bring his meals into the room so I could eat with him and our son. They certainly went out of their way to accommodate us. All the staff, including the office staff, were exceptional. They truly let us just be ourselves, which was very nice. I hadn't tried the food, but my loved one ate everything and seemed to enjoy it. In comparison to other places, I thought they were very fairly priced. They were very careful with Covid safety protocols and required masks to be worn. You also had to be buzzed in and couldn't just walk into the place, and that helped keep all of the people who were there safe.

June 22, 2022Hi Clara, we are very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! We're glad to hear we delivered such a great experience. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help!
We had a positive, good experience at The Pearl at Dallas. What I appreciated the most was the staff's training on Alzheimer's. The community is all on one floor and they have good communication. They offered a lot of activities including games, outings, etc.

September 22, 2022Thank you so much for the positive review. We are so glad you had a wonderful experience with us. If there is anything we can do to help in the future please let know!
I looked at about 7 different facilities and The Pearl was by far the best, I immediately knew this was the place. What stood out was they focused primarily on memory care. The other places I looked at it seemed like memory care was an after thought. The last 4 days my dad was alive is what impressed me the most. The care not just for my dad but for the family was unbelievable. They prayed over him and over us and they made it as beautiful as possible. I cannot speak highly enough about [name removed] the administrator, she went above and beyond. I would highly recommend The Pearl.

August 17, 2021Thank you for the review!
It's pretty clean, but I know it's hard with so many people there. Overall it's good but could be a little better. Everybody is very friendly and smiles, when you walk by, And they're very friendly to my loved one, which is the important thing. There have been a few weak points here and there with the care and housekeeping, which I addressed with them, and they were open to making changes. My loved one says the food is pretty good, and what I've seen looks good. We can now visit in her room, but they discourage congregating in the common areas. I wish the activities were a little more creative They play bingo an awful lot. I know the shutdowns have affected things, and they haven't gone on as many trips and outings as they normally would. My biggest complaint would be security of the rooms. I bought a really nice comforter set for her room, and lately all I've seen is an old brown one. So I think they could do a little better with laundry mix-ups and that kind of thing. But I do really like that it's just dementia care here, instead of trying to mix assisted living in with it. I'm reasonably happy with them. It's not too far away, and they've been great about having her ready and on time for doctor appointments. It's taken a little while, but she's gotten where she seems to like it there and is comfortable there.

Everything there has been so wonderful and nice, and they have activities every single day. Our loved one prior to coming to The Pearl had lost a lot of weight, and they are allowing him two meals at meal times if he would like . Our loved one really enjoys the food there.

Had I known what this place really was like, I wouldn't have put my loved one here. It was a very bad experience. It's a big fancy building, but the care is a different story. The room was clean, that's about all I can say. They kept our loved one drugged up to the point that he didn't know who he was. They wouldn't let us in to see him. When he passed, they let us into the room where he was lying in bed with just a diaper on, with blood on his mouth, and a white residue on his dentures that I never could tell what it was nor would it come off.
