Response from Hillside Springs
October 14, 2024Hello, Thank you for your kind words! We’re so happy to hear your mom is thriving at Hillside Springs. We appreciate your feedback on the food options and will look into how we can improve choices and quantities. Thanks for being part of our community! Amy McDowell, Executive Director
They were short handed in the beginning, maybe some days they still are. But I know the new management has done a lot to make the place look nice. I believe they have a new(er) chef. But I hear the grumbling when we walk through during dinner. Overall, I believe the changes that the new owners/management have made have been very beneficial to all residents.

Somethings The Lodge at Aspen Village could work to improve on would be to pick up, brush teeth, quality of care. My husband was soak and wet on [date removed] for pick sitting in a stack of chair. No shower or teach brush since I left him. Very lethargic like sedated with something. He had two patches on him one dated [date removed] and could not make out the other date . According to pharmacy pamphlet if more than one patch could be deadly. I have tried to contact them and they will not return my call except [name removed]. Would not recommend. They need to hire some health care worker. Administration should return calls

Our first impression right away we noticed how clean the community is kept, the staff were very friendly and the residents living there all seemed very happy and well taken care of. Our father is satisfied and we have been very pleased. One thing our loved one consistently talks and raves about is the meals and dining service. He says the food is so awesome. They have a lot of activities going on, and so far we have had no complaints

We had a good tour experience with The Lodge at Aspen Village. The reason I did not go with this facility was because the atmosphere felt dark and gloomy and I wanted something that was bright and cheerful.
The accommodations/apartments are very nice. It seems like they have a good bit of activities. I was under the impression that there was going to have more field trips. The food is almost non-edible. None of the family that was in attendance for a family event at the community was able to eat the food, and it was served cold. I have been trying to get in contact with the director several times about this and the director hasn't contacted me back about the food.

Our tour with The Lodge was fine. It is a bigger facility with more residents, it has all the bells and whistles. We were looking for a smaller more personalized facility.
Found The Lodge at Aspen Village in July 2021 thanks to a home health nurse, toured it with mom and she fell in love with the place, the staff and the ideal of gaining her independence back. We moved her in [date removed] and have been very pleased with the cleanliness, the loving staff members, the food, and the overall companionship she now has. There offer so much for the seniors if you are looking for a beautiful place for mom or dad try Aspen Village!

The second we walked in we knew this was not going to be the place we put our loved one. They were late for the tour and said we were not on their books. Someone who doesnt normally give tours was the one showing us around. It just seemed cold and we did not get a good feeling. The facility was pretty.
We toured this community and it did not go well. They were late to do the tour and no one knew we had one scheduled. Overall it was a bad experience.
My loved one and I visited The Lodge at Aspen Village, and we were greeted with the most kindest and professional staff members. The welcome we received exceeded our expectations. The staff answered all our questions and patiently gave us a tour. We didn’t Feel as though we were being rushed. We were there during lunch and the food smelled appetizing. The rooms are very spacious and the view outside was as inviting as the cozy inside. We are considering this beautiful facility as our number one choice. It feels a lot like home to us and will greatly enhance my loved one’s life.

We chose The Lodge because we were impressed when we initially met with the director and her staff members. We also knew a family who was living here for years and that factored highly in our decision and it is within 10 minutes of our house. The room sizes at the facility are good. It is a very beautiful, well maintained building and it has a family community atmosphere. We love the courtyards they have where we van visit with our family. I would recommend to others looking without any reservation

I would not recommend this community right now. I went into this understanding that we're in a pandemic, and I would not be able to visit as I wanted to. But they've been very inconsistent in their policies. I think they also have some issues that are affecting their ability to keep staff there. The food has declined significantly over the time we've been there. It looks and tastes terrible currently. Lately they haven't had enough help, trash isn't getting emptied, etc. Originally there were some really great people there, but there's been a lot of turnover. There's no communication with families. When I contact them, they eventually get back to me. But it's taken persistence. The sales person we spoke to originally was wonderful, and he would go outside of his role to help get a response for me. But he's no longer there. The manager is very nice, but the communication is just not great. I don't feel like I have a sense of what's going on, and when rules change regarding visitation they don't let you know.

My father has thrived since being at Aspen Village. I would recommend this community for your loved one. The food is good and plenty of it. The staff is very friendly and happy to help with the residents. The amount you agree to when moving in and that is the rent.
