Retirement is the perfect time to relax, and at The Parkview you’ll find the perfect place to relax in a wholesome retirement community. Parkview’s owner, Jay McBride, designed The Parkview community after a challenging effort to help his father-in-law find the perfect place to retire. McBride believed senior living should cater and genuinely accommodate “the greatest generation,” and because of his passion, The Parkview in Tennessee was created.
Upon visiting, many will take notice that Parkview is a community of unique individuals. Everyone in our community is considered family and that sense is always apparent among staff, residents, visitors, and within everything we do. The Parkview was designed to provide exceptional senior living that ultimately promotes dignity, independence, and leisure to individuals 55 and up.
No matter where anyone is in life’s journey, home is meant to be a place of familiarity, safety, and joy, all of which The Parkview embodies. You don’t have to take our word for it, check out a review from a satisfied family member, “My mom moved in back in December. They truly care for her and she loves all the activities. She was leery after living in New Jersey for 90 years but is...

This community is currently closed and they are shutting the doors at the end of April. I had to find somewhere else for my loved one to go. If they were going to close the community I feel like they should have helped the residents find somewhere else to go instead of just leaving them to figure things out. The caregivers care but the community does not.

I chose The Parkview because I loved the building, I grew up in the city not far from here and I just loved the ambiance and I thought that I would be very happy here. They do have a lot of activities available for residents to participate in. Due to my experience, I would not recommend to others who are looking.

I would want others to know that you have to be willing to participate in the care of your loved ones if they are here at Parkview, they do not have a lot of help. It is a very old facility and it is showing it's age. I would not recommend.

It's an older building, and I like the grace of the older building. I love being here because of the beauty of the community. They are changing ownership and the jury is still out on if this is an improvement. the staff is very responsive to any issue we have. I would recommend this community to others.

We are looking for wheelchair accessible facility. However the Parkview does not have rooms with wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Only one entrance to the building via ramp. Facility was excellent.

Hello [name removed]: My wife and I did visit The Parkview on Saturday and was pleased with the tour as well as the interaction of the residents in the common areas. The units were clean and accpmodating. The bathrooms and kitchens were a little outdated, however, they were acceptable.

Parkview was recommended for my late brother by a Place for Mom. Although he was a resident for a short time, he really enjoyed living there. [Name removed] and the entire staff are terrific and the residents were very friendly. Everything about the place from the food to activities were top notch. The location in midtown Memphis is convenient and they offer free transportation to most of the city. An added plus is a Memphis Zoo membership for every resident. I have seen plenty of retirement homes/communities and would highly recommend this one.

I personally loved this facility. I do like old buildings with the original architecture. The room that I saw had lots of room and the windows were large. It has a radiator for heat and a window air conditioner, but I felt it lent to the character of the building. They had lots of activities for the residence and welfare checks, beautiful dining room. [Name removed] immediately made you want to move in.

Moving my father in law into Parkview was the best decision we ever made. He was reluctant at first but now he loves it and states he wishes he would have moved in years ago. The staff worked tirelessly to make him feel welcome and to quickly get him involved in activities. He loves going down to eat and says the food is great. When he didn’t feel well and had to be transported to the ED there were plenty of people around to keep an eye on him until EMS could get there. It’s wonderful having someone there 24/7. We couldn’t be happier.

The people I met at this community were super nice and helpful. This community does offer transportation. They did not have a ground floor apartment available at the time we were looking.

Mom is still getting adjusted to living at this community. The staff have been helpful and answered our questions. The community is clean and the grounds are well maintained. Mom has started to participate in some of the daily activities. They are getting ready to do some remodeling. This community is a good cost and I would recommend this community.

Things are going good for mom at this community. The staff are great. They do offer daily activities. Mom is not crazy about the food. They do keep the community well taken care of and they clean mom's apartment once a week. This is a wonderful place and I would recommend it.

The transition has been wonderful. I have seen a 100% improvement, a lot has to do with the home care that is on the premises. They provide his medication 3 times a day. He gets meals through the day. They have activities and he engages with the residents and plays checkers with them. There is a private garden. He spent a lot of time walking with the Physical Therapist. It is a nice facility with great services. For us the pricing was right, the location was convenient, and the services offered are ideal. They also have a pharmacy on site for convince and a better deal.

I would not recommend this community to anyone. They have been sold three times in the last six months. While I was living, we went without water for months. That is not acceptable, and they are not doing anything to correct any of the issues. This is not a good community, and I would not recommend it.

The Parkview is very comfortable. My favorite thing about it is the meals, they have an excellent selection on the menu every day. The place is clean and all of the staff is very friendly. The only thing I wish they would improve on is the building itself, it is about 100 years old and could use some remodeling to fix some major issues. Other than that, I am happy here.
