The staff and aides are friendly and respectful. The meals are very good and the dining services are well organized. I am very happy about the prompt delivery of medications. I suggest better communication with caregivers.... Read more

Very satisfied with the area and community. Decided to return here.
I have lived here for a little over 10 months. Everyone is very helpful and will try to help you when you ask. The food is very good and all the staff is great.
Have lived here for the past 4 years and have had a very positive experience living here. People here are very friendly and helpful. My wife and I do not regret having chosen to live here at the Hearth.
I have been here many years and I still enjoy it very much
A good place to live
We chose The Hearth at Greenpoint because of the price and the apartment size. She has a huge kitchen and living room with a breakfast bar and 1 bedroom and bath. She also has a balcony that overlooks a nice area which is nice as well. The area that the facility is in is residential so we walk a lot. It is right off of the highway so a great location. My mom is very active, she likes physical activities and I think that they could provide more physical activities. My biggest thing would be that I feel that they suggest a lot of care services that she does not need yet. Overall I would recommend to others looking, it is a very safe community.

At first when our loved one moved in there was an incident with the billing team member, the break down of fees. Overall, I believe they have handled the COVID situation great and helped protect the residents.

The community is a good choice. The food is very good, and better than expected. The staff tries very hard to have the residents participate in anything they have available. The room is nice and cute.

The community was overall very clean. We also appreciate how well they have handled the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff is awesome. In general, they are respectful and they have done a good job with keeping the residents safe during the community lock down and making sure we as the family are still able to have contact with our loved one. They do run a lot of varied activities and we do think the community is worth the price.

This place was great when my parents moved in but has gone downhill considerably in the last 3-4 years. Use to get a smile from EVERY staff member, now the front desk barely acknowledges you. Case manager [name removed] is useless, don't even know if she still works there the communication with family is so bad. Staff turn over frequent and I consider these and other issues a reflection of the administration.

Please DO NOT entrust your loved one to this facilities care if they need mediciation management or they are not basically totally independent! My mother lived here for a little over two months. In that timeframe, they messed up her medication NUMEROUS times, they did not return phone calls, they left fecal matter on my mother (as seen by hospital ER departmemt) and robbed her of her dignity: just to name a few. All they care about, from the very top, (management: case manager, head of nursing, and their executive director) is MONEY. They are ruthless, for-profit, unwilling to work with you, refuse to hold themselves accountable for their errors, try to intimidate, pass the blame, do the bare minimum, and then try to stick you for rent and services after you've moved your loved one out (after a legal and necessary medical evaluation required by NY State proved they were unable to meet my mother's medical needs)! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place. The medicine passers don't know what they are dispensing to residents, medication came up missing, was never given to my mom or they gave her too much. I tried to get answers numerous times to no avail. I do not understand how anyone in management at Greenpoint can sleep comfortably at night. I literally pray for the residents: especially the ones who do not have an advocate.

[Name removed] was very helpful and answered all of our questions, in her calming way she helped put aside any unknowns that we had, and reassured us that she would do whatever she could to help with [Name removed] 's transition from Georgia. Community was really nice, staff and residents were very friendly, rooms good size and offered amenities were more than adequate.

my mother moved to the Hearth at Greenpoint just over one month ago. We couldn't be happier with her choice. The facility is well-suited for my mother and the staff has been great. I would especially like to thank [name removed] who has been so helpful making this transition go smoothly. We expect our mother to enjoy living at the Hearth for many years to come.

Response from The Hearth at Greenpoint
October 23, 2018Hello, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at The Hearth at Greenpoint. We hope you have a great day!
Greenpoint has become a wonderful home for my 94 year old mother. After self care for 93 + years, it was difficult for her to adjust to a large apartment building. However, now, after six months, she has joined some of the many activities offered here and is comfortable with her new environment. She especially enjoys the entertainment. We greatly appreciate the attentiveness of various staff members to help her with getting settled. One improvement I would like to see is more of an effort on the part of Greenpoint to create an opportunity for family members to meet with or make comments to management.

My dad has been a resident of Greenpoint for the past 3 1/2 years. He is mostly independent with a few services. The staff at Greenpoint are amazing. Dad is not the most social resident but everyone calls him by name and know his favorite ice cream treat! Greenpoint staff members and administration have been very responsive to small needs that are not "listed" and are gracious about finding someone to re-boot his router or find a dropped hearing aid. Their response is very professional and personal in all situations and are understanding of our unique family needs.

We were getting close to going with them. I was pretty impressed with them. I talked to a woman there who was very nice. I was only in the main lobby and talked to her and we were just getting into talking about what the finances were. I ended up finding another place but I was still very impressed with this place. It was very clean and nice.

A Place for Mom has scored The Hearth at Greenpoint 8.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
