Overall experience was outstanding. The staff treated mom like a loving family member. We were told she was like a Gma to several. They truly loved her. And when we visited monthly, from out of state, staff went out of their way to accommodate 5-7 of us so we dine together & visit in one of the larger rooms. We, as family, were treated like we were there family. We were so blessed, and mom loved them all. I gave a 4 for activities & cost, because mom was not able to participate in activities. And cost... well, it's expensive, but we definitely got our monies worth!

Our loved one is receiving the least expensive care but they have increased the monthly rate from [fee removed] to [fee removed]. I don't believe the cost of this is reflective of the care our loved one receives. However, I would recommend based on other sites I visited prior to our loved ones placement.

Initial interface with Staff during pre-move in was good. Everyone put their best face on the facility and personnel. Once move-in occurred the initial personnel disappeared and no one cared to help get the resident settled and cared for properly. Worse, there was not enough staff to help care for all the residents at the facility. What was promised at the beginning never materialized. In fact, our family member did not receive ONE bath in 3 weeks despite repeated requests. It took a hospice request to get our family member showered and cared for. Another example was that our family member fainted in the dining room one morning and all the staff did was lay him in a chair in an adjoining room. Contact of incidences and medicines given were not provided to the family member overseeing care. The facility is unclean with heavy urine smell and no activities (despite what was promised at the beginning) were provided...other than television. The staff is over worked and the food is sub-par.

The Hampton at Salmon Creek is exemplary. The staff is professional & unselfishly compassionate, & duties are smartly segregated for nursing, care giving, activities, cooking, cleaning, maintenance, & administration. Residents are treated with respect & kindness, addressed by name, & fed well. There are long & wide hallways specially decorated that provide for ample & secure walking with mild mental stimulus. I have only heard of one other facility that is comparable, which unsurprisingly is managed by the same [name removed] family. My Background: My spouse has benefited from their care for over 21 months and I've visited an average of over 2 hours per day, often twice a day & at various times. I've also known other relatives and friends at other good facilities in 4 different states.

The community itself is clean, but it smells like poop often, they could use some better air filtration. When it comes to the care services they don't have enough staff to make sure mom gets out and walks. As far as activities, they are boring and mom never wants to do them. The value is very expensive for what little they have to do for mom .

Our family had an in person tour and for what we were looking for, for our loved one the staff to resident interaction just wasn't on the same level. It was still a good tour but it was a big enough difference that made our choice.
Response from The Hampton at Salmon Creek Memory Care
March 31, 2023Thank you for sharing your candid review of The Hampton at Salmon Creek Memory Care Community. While our community was crafted to offer a personalized care model to reconnect residents to their cherished memories, we understand that it may not be a fit for everyone. We appreciate you for considering us for your loved one and for your feedback, as it will help us continuously raise the bar of senior living.
There were a few aides that were really good. But overall, The Hampton is not that good. We found our loved one in unacceptable conditions. When we brought it to the staff's attention, they showed concern, but the issue wasn't taken care of appropriately.

What sticks out most to me about The Hampton at Salmon Creek is their friendliness; calling mom by name, every staff member we've talked to has commented on how sweet mom is. They have been great to keep us in the loop, when she has fallen or isn't feeling well...

My mother was a resident for almost a year before she died. She was not an easy person to please and yet she loved the staff and made quite a few friends there. I cannot thank the nurses and rest of staff enough for the peace of mind I felt that she was in a safe place. I knew she was being closely watched for changes in her health and well being. She especially liked Izaac and I’m sure she got his whole life story out of him. Also a huge thank you to [name removed] and [name removed] for coming to our rescue when we needed help transporting mom for a blood transfusion. I will forever sing your praises to anyone looking for help caring for a loved one.

August 8, 2022Diane N., Thank you for sharing your mother's positive experience at El Rio Memory Care with others and for trusting us with her care. Comments like yours are the best possible confirmation that our efforts to 'create happiness by providing the finest living experience anywhere' are paying off. At our community, we strive to create the most loving and nurturing community we can—a true home to our residents—and it warms our hearts to know that we did exactly that for her. Thank you for the kind words, and we were so blessed to have your mother here.
We did a virtual tour with The Hampton at Salmon Creek, and it was great. We wanted to go with this facility, but they did not have any openings when we needed it. It was also a great location for our family.
The virtual tour was fairly complete and comprehensive. Hampton seems inviting and cozy, and there is attention to detail concerning safety and the individuality of its residents. I have contacted Lacee for a few more specifics.

This is a horrible place. The upper management was rude and refused to listen to my parents daily care plan or implement it during there short stay. During covid isolation they had no TV or music. They refused to put my mom in the recliner and kept her in bed unless she was eating. They also would not change her out of her PJ's during the day. One caregiver was impatient that my mom was not swallowing her food fast enough and kept forcing her to eat which made her cry. I am so thankful my parents are out of this place. Oh, they said the food was terrible.

I only had my step dad at the Hamptons for about two months as he passed away after a brief illness. During the time he was there I was very impressed with the compassionate care he received. It is a very clean and pleasing environment

The Hampton was a wonderful place for our mother. They took very special care of her and kept us informed of any and all situations. We are so thankful we transferred her there from an assisted living situation, as The Hampton was the best place for her in her last months.

Response from The Hampton at Salmon Creek Memory Care
October 14, 2019Sonna, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your positive experience at The Hampton at Salmon Creek. Placing a family member in Memory Care is difficult; every resident has specific needs. We found The Hampton after being dissatisfied with the care provided at another facility. We were very careful in choosing the second time around in order to match our family member’s specific care-giving needs with the right facility. Our family member has been at The Hampton for three years and they do a wonderful job. She is calm, happy and very well cared for. She has special dietary restrictions prescribed by her physician that are very well met. Even her traveling dental hygienists have commented multiple times about how well her dental hygiene is managed. Turnover among The Hampton nursing staff is very rare and nursing staff levels are great, usually with two nurses on during the peak day time hours and one at night. Care-giving staff levels are also very stable with low turnover. This means they are very familiar with her needs and are quick to notice a possible status change or illness and call us with concerns. Every single person in the building (Caregivers, Nurses, Activities, Reception, Management, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Kitchen Staff, etc.) is well trained in the specifics of dementia/memory care and encouraged to engage with the residents (and families) as needed to ensure their needs are met. The facility is clean and tidy. The food is great; prepared daily and very fresh. Clothing and bedding are kept clean. The activities staff has developed a toolkit that includes a variety of fun and appropriate physical games, word games, and lots of music therapy time. Are they perfect? No. We’ve had issues along the way. But the staff and management team have been very quick to resolve any issues we bring to their attention.

BED BUGS!!!!!!!! O MY GOD………… When one of the staff at this facility told me she was quitting because there was bed buds, we moved out our parent as fast as possible. She said it had been going on for six months and they have not been able to get rid of them because they would have to move everyone out and put a tent over the facility for a month. Further she said there was only one nurse for sixteen hours of the day for sixty plus very debilitated residents, and when there are two nurses it’s only to hand out pills. So, why is the nursing staff stretched so thin as to not be able to properly watch my parent. No wonder why so many of them have lots of un-witnessed injuries. Many cases of fractures at this facility!!!!! Also, I was told that when there is a caregiver shortage (which is all the time) they use the unlicensed shower aids to replace caregivers. Which means no one gets there minimum two showers a week. How many times a week do you shower? There was a lot more information given that I am reporting to the State, so think twice before you put your family here…………………
